The summer season means one thing for cake bakers- they are inundated with orders for designing cakes for summer weddings!

The English weather is infamous for being hit or miss- but one thing that remains certain, having a cake made for you by Cakes by Dee in Haverhill always guarantees that ‘wow’ factor that you want for your special day.

After the wedding of Wills and Kate, all eyes were on the bride and groom- but what some of you may not know, is that they couple had separate cakes, one for Kate and one especially for William.

Dee, owner of Cakes by Dee says, “Prince William requested to have a biscuit cake which he had as a child, which is made of crushed biscuits and chocolate, then set in the fridge to chill. It was such a contrast to the ornate, pure white cake Kate had, which had Lily of the Valley cascading down the tiers.

“This is fast becoming a new trend for weddings- sometimes the groom wants his own cake made in a flavour of his choice rather than the frills of a traditional white cake.”

Kate’s cake had an English floral theme and included many British symbols, including white roses, thistles, daffodils, shamrocks, acorns, ivy, honeysuckle and white jasmine.

Do you know a couple getting married this summer? Maybe you should follow in the footsteps of the couple of the moment and treat the groom to his very own separate cake. Or are you the bride looking for cake inspiration? Take notes from Kate’s cake and make it your own.

Dee specifically designs cakes to the wishes of the couple, so why not call her and let her help create that magic moment for your special day.
