Suffolk West Citizens Advice Bureau – with offices in Brandon, Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill and Mildenhall – is looking for new trustees.

Trustees are responsible for monitoring the work of the Bureau, including helping to develop its strategic direction, and supporting the management, staff and volunteers, as well as monitoring the financial position of the Bureau.

We are looking for people from a variety of backgrounds, age and gender who have a broad understanding – and possibly involvement in – their local community.

Members are expected to attend 6 board meetings each year with other meetings and visits to the 4 offices as and when feasible. The personal skills and qualities we are looking for include:

  •  Good communication skills and a willingness to participate in discussion
  •  A willingness to gain and share knowledge of the local community’s needs and resources
  •  Sufficient numerical skills to develop an understanding of monthly management accounts and annual budgets
  • A willingness and ability to promote the work of the CAB to colleagues, friends, people and organisations inWest Suffolk.

This is a good opportunity for people to develop skills relevant to furthering their career and to contribute to the running of a very important local service.

Training in the role of trustee will be given.

If you are interested please call in to one of the offices or email to obtain an application pack.

If you’d like an informal discussion to find out more please get in touch with
