SUFFOLK PREMIER CUP QUARTER FINAL

HAVERHILL ROVERS 2   LOWESTOFT TOWN 4

The hosts actually lead following a good goal by Ryan Weaver in the 17th minute, but this was cancelled out in the 35th with Harvey Hodd’s looping header, Nick Wilderspin clearing the ball but it had already gone over the goal line.

Home captain Martyn Farrant then brought down Hodd in the penalty area in the 42nd minute and Jack Ainsley converted the spot kick to give Lowestoft a 2-1 half time lead.

The away side made it 3-1 on the hour mark before a free kick by Will Gardner on the edge of the “D” on 64 minutes found its way through the wall and into the bottom left corner of the net and made the game more interesting.

Haverhill hopes were short lived, however, as Farrant unfortunately headed into his own top corner of the net three minutes later in the final goal of the evening.

ROVERS : Archer, Moody, Kemp, Hunt, Farrant, Wilderspin, Stevenson (Alleyne, 50), Baker, Weaver, Kicks, Gardner. Subs not used – Jebb, Newnes, Haines, Shinn.
