Reminder from St Edmundsbury Borough Council
Changes to Bin Collection Day
From 28th June St Edmundsbury Borough Council will be changing the bin collection days. This will mean that most householders in Haverhill will need to put their bins out on a different day of the week, and also perhaps change the week that they put out their blue/brown and black bins.
Why are the bin collections being changed?
The changes are necessary because of a new contract which has changed where the waste is taken. This has provided the opportunity to redesign collection rounds in Haverhill to make them more efficient, to help the Borough Council reduce the amount of fuel used and to reduce carbon emissions.
The changes also enable the bin collection rounds to be redesigned to take into account all the new homes built over the years.
You can call 0800 028 4083 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday for more information regarding these changes.
An additional vehicle and crew will be in operation for the first two weeks after these changes are introduced. This will ensure that any people who have missed their new collection day are able to have their rubbish collected.
