New Mayor of St Edmundsbury – and Haverhill resident – Tim Marks has chosen St Nicholas Hospice and REACH as his supported charities this year.

As part of his commitment to raise money and awareness for these fantastic causes, Mayor Marks and his wife Margaret are in the midst of organising two fundraising events in September and are looking for local businesses, groups and individuals to lend their support.

A BIG car boot sale is set to be held on Sunday 2nd September Haverhill Recreation Ground; Mayor and Mayoress Marks are looking for:

  • People who want to book a pitch for £7
  • Items for raffle prizes/tombola
  • Items that can be sold by the organisers at the car boot sale
  • Help on the day
  • Visitors on the day

On Saturday 15th September, there will be an indoor table top sale at Haverhill Arts Centre. The organisers are searching for:

  • People who want to book a table top to sell their own items for £10
  • Items for raffle prizes/tombola
  • Items that can be sold by the organisers on the day
  • Help on the day
  • Visitors on the day

Raising money via eBay

If you have unwanted items cluttering up your Haverhill home, why not donate them to a good cause? Mayoress Marks is more than happy to take any donated items and sell them on eBay; in fact, so far she has already raised over £100 on eBay from donated items.

Every effort and every item can make a difference, however large or. So please get in touch via thebestof Haverhill and help raise as much as possible for these essential charities.
