Tina Hanks, Town Centre Manager, will launch the Haverhill Town Centre Survey at The Best of Haverhill business meeting on Thursday 16th September. This is a partnership initiative involving some of the town’s independent retailers, businesses, business organisations and business support agencies coordinated by the Town Centre Manager with input from Dr Andrew Fearne, Professor of Food Marketing and Supply Chain Management at Kent Business School.
Tina will outline how the initiative began, the aims of the survey and the potential value of the responses to retailers, regarding their offer. The comments will also provide agencies with up to date feedback for consideration when planning to help shape the future of the town.
Tina explains, "The project has been initiated by some of our local businesses who are keen to get both quantitative and qualitative data on visitor and shopper behaviour patterns in the town centre. We are hoping that people will take the time to complete the short survey as this will provide an invaluable insight into what people think of the town and its current retail and service offer.
The more competed surveys we receive then the greater and more accurate this insight will be. We are looking for support from the business community to help us distribute the surveys – either electronically via email to their employees and contacts, by providing a link on their website to the survey or providing printed copies for people to complete on their premises.
If people choose to complete the form and include their name and address they will be entered into a prize draw for £100 of shopping vouchers.”
The closing date for the survey is 30th November 2010 and the data will be processed and analysed during the first quarter of 2011. If your organisation would like to take part in distributing the survey please contact Tina Hanks, Town Centre Manager on 01440 765100 or via email: Tina.Hanks@stedsbc.gov.uk. If you are an individual who would like to complete a survey, the forms can be collected from various locations throughout the town, including shops, the library and council offices.
The Best of Haverhill is happy to support this exciting initiative. We believe that learning what people think about the town firsthand is just the first step in a process which should eventually allow us to market and promote Haverhill even more successfully in the future and to improve upon the perceptions of the town.
We are committed to championing local businesses and encouraging people to buy locally. Increased footfall and spend in the town centre not only benefits the businesses located here, it also generates wealth and vibrancy and makes the town a more attractive proposition for further inward investment. Please take the time to complete the survey and tell us what you think about Haverhill.
