Just to let you know that the arrangements for the first It's Thursday with The Best of Haverhill business meeting are underway. The theme of our first event will be "Wanting the best for Haverhill". The West Suffolk Prospective Parliamentary Candidates for the three main political parties - Labour, Conservatives and Liberal Democrats have been invited to Haverhill, by The Best of Haverhill, to deliver a five minute manifesto for Haverhill businesses. So far Matthew Hancock the PPC for the Conservatives and Dr Belinda Brooks-Gordon the PPC for the Liberal Democrats have accepted the invitation.
The election is a highly topical issue even though the date for the general election still hasn't been set - time is running out! The current Parliament will cease to exist at midnight on May 10th and, according to the Electoral Commission, a general election to elect the new Parliament must be held no later than Thursday 3rd June.
There will be an opportunity to put your questions to the candidates in a short question and answer session following their manifesto.

The event starts at 10am and will finish at 11.30am. Come and join us, have a coffee and a cake, listen to what the Prospective Parliamentary Candidates for the region have to offer businesses in Haverhill and meet other business people in a friendly and informal environment.
