Improvements to Stour Brook in Haverhill
The Environment Agency (EA) will be installing a new access ramp to the river behind the car park near the Brook Service Road, see the map for details.
This work will necessitate the removal of some small self sown sycamore trees and shrubs. The EA will check for nesting birds prior to undertaking the removal of the trees. They will also be removing the low overhanging branches on the embankment and removing any litter that the work reveals.
The installation of the ramp by the EA will mean that they can gain easier access to the river. This should result in them being able to keep it cleaner than has been the case in recent years.
This work will be carried out in the next four-six weeks. If anyone requires further information please contact Damien Parker, Parks Manager at St Edmundsbury Borough Council on 01284 763 233.
