In May we welcomed Nic Rumsey, owner of The Days Inn Haverhill and director of Carisbrooke Investments to speak at "It's Thursday with The Best of Haverhill". At that meeting Nic gave an update on the hotel, the Haverhill Business Park and presented his plans for the Haverhill Research Park and the Haverhill Western Edge developments.
Following Nic's presentation at The Best of Haverhill event he has recently published a document which updates Carisbrooke’s thinking regarding the Hanchett End site following the publication of a draft concept statement by St Edmundsbury Borough Council. This document outlines the current situation, Carisbrooke's position, financial considerations, Carisbrooke's covenant to the community, and the next steps required to move the project forward.
St Edmundsbury Borough Council has set out it's ideas on how the land at Hanchett End should be developed in the Draft Concept Statement.
Local people are invited to express their views on the future of this key Haverhill site. The consultation period closes at 5pm on Friday 30th July. You can make your comments on the draft Concept Statement known to the council by completing a response form on St Edmundsbury's website, emailing ldf@stedsbc.gov.uk or telephoning the Council's Planning Policy team on 01284 757352.
If you would like to find out more about the site or Carisbrooke's views on its future development please call Matthew Turpin or Tobin Byers on 0800 298 7040 or Nic Rumsey on 07880 743 477 or visit www.haverhillresearchpark.com.
Please take the time to express your views in the Consultation process. This is a key development for Haverhill. There is an opportunity to create a really attractive gateway to the town from the Cambridge approach as well as new employment opportunities.
Carisbrooke expect the new business park to create around 1000 jobs in the town, although it is too early to detail exact numbers.
