Halloween in Haverhill 2011
6th October 2011

Halloween is just around the corner and if you’re struggling to find themed events to keep the kids entertained, thebestof Haverhill may have the solution, with a range of spooky shenanigans listed on our Events Directory.

Fancy a ghostly walk in the park? Sampling a witch’s finger? Scaring yourself silly on the raceway? If so, read on!

A little Halloween trivia – Rob Zombie, American film director, writer and musician, founded the heavy metal band, White Zombie and has become a cult horror director, with such titles as House of 1000 Corpses, the remake of Halloween and The Devil’s Rejects.

Incidentally, he was born as Robert Bartleh Cumming in 1965 in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Ok, so a different continent, but still...

Anyway, I digress - back to the events:

Halloween Trail

East Town Park will be taken over by spooky, strange beings on Friday 28th October from 7pm.

Ideal for all the family (just make sure the children are accompanied by an adult) we dare you to brave the trail to discover what All Hallows Eve has in store for you... will you be lucky or suffer an untimely fate?

Come in fancy dress, wear suitable footwear and don’t forget that torch or you may end up as part of the horror story...

Parking is limited so it would be a good idea to walk to East Town Park.

Taking part is completely free and there is no need to book.

Hallowe’en Night Golf

Open to men, ladies and children, Haverhill Golf Club have got into the (ghostly) spirit and have organised a themed golf tournament.

Stableford format, played over 7 holes, with the first tee time at 6pm.

Simply pay in the Clubhouse on the night and if you want to wear fancy dress, you’re more than welcome as there are prizes for the best team and scariest outfit.

And if that’s not enough, the golfing ‘spooktacular’ will be rounded off with Haverhill Golf Club’s chef’s Hallowe’en Special, which includes Minced Batwings in a Spicy Blood Red Sauce, a Cauldron of Nasty Ghouls and Festering Witches Fingers with Oozing Topping (don’t worry, it’s Halloween code for Chilli con Carne, Chicken and Vegetable Casserole and Cheesy Potato Wedges – golfers aren’t cannibals you know!)

Entry for golf and food is just £9 per person and £6 per person for food only.

The Halloween Showcase

Taking place at the TIC Raceway on Homefield Road, The Halloween Showcase is a Banger only affair, with the race open to bangers, bangers and caravans and hearses (yes, you read that right!)

The track is open for practice all day and racing starts for 7pm until late. There will be various frights and surprises throughout the night.
