From 21st May – 25th May 2012 Haverhill Arts Centre will be hosting the Haverhill Drama Festival 2012 – an exciting free ticketed event that is sure to appeal to the whole community.

Mr David Vince, an adjudicator from the Guild of Drama Adjudicators (GODA), will be judging groups of aspiring actors, with each performing a series of one act plays.

Drama societies from Haverhill, Foxton, Cambridge, Sawston, Wilburton , East Bergholt, Clavering and Bury St Edmunds will be performing their hearts out for the chance to win the highly desired silver cup. Each group has carefully selected a play they wish to perform a single act from. These plays can either be a well-established piece, a newly written play or an adaption of any dramatic work already written.

Haverhill Town Council is sponsoring this wonderful event, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy a free evening of entertainment gold. Arts and Leisure Manager Nick Keeble, has said: “The Haverhill Drama Festival gives everybody a great opportunity to come and see some excellent plays and great talent for free. I am really excited to be able to programme five nights of entertainment and that this year the range of plays is so diverse.”
