COGGESHALL TOWN 2   HAVERHILL ROVERS 3

Haverhill kicked off their friendly campaign for 2015 with a win at Coggeshall after twice going behind.

The hosts went ahead on 11 minutes following a free kick to the left of the area that was set back and, with a player being left unmarked, goalkeeper Alex Archer got a hand to the 20 yard shot but couldn’t keep it out of the near bottom left corner.

It was 1-1 on 28 minutes following some nice play right of the Coggeshall goal, the move ending with the ball being chipped in and Tye Alleyne got enough of his head on the ball to take it past ‘keeper Graham Smith.

The home side led at the break thanks to a 38th minute corner that, following a touch on the ball by a Coggeshall player, pinged around the goal line and a combination of Archer, the post and Nick Wilderspin on that post saw the ball go over.

Haverhill’s second equaliser came in the 64th minute, a goal mouth scramble ending with Charlie Sigler scoring at the near left post.

The winning goal came on 81 minutes, Owen Longley’s last minute cut back going past Smith and two defenders to find Sigler at the far left post, who rode a challenge from another defender before firing past another on the goal line.
