Don’t forget that gift this Father’s Day!

This year, Father’s Day falls on Sunday 17th June and if you’re anything like me, you’ll be so confused about what time of year it is – what with random bank holidays and what seems to be four seasons in one day – that it’ll be upon you before you know it.

Mums are usually easy to buy for – spend a few pennies on flowers, chocolates or a Sunday lunch that she doesn’t have to cook and we’re happy. But dads aren’t usually quite so easy to buy for – socks and Inspector Banks books can get boring very quickly, and although my dad does love his chocolate and liquorice, his rapidly expanding belly does make me think twice about grabbing that family size bar of Cadbury’s off the shelf.

However, there is no need to panic about what to buy this year as thebestof Haverhill is on hand with a few ideas.

A beauty treatment may traditionally be a woman’s treat, but there’s no reason why dad shouldn’t have a pamper session this Father’s Day! Haverhill salon, Arevolution has a Gentlemen’s Club (no, not like that!), which offers manicures, pedicures, facials, eyebrow tidies, back and chest wax and massages. Ok, so perhaps a waxing session doesn’t scream ‘I love you daddy’, but a relaxing and invigorating massage will!

Why not immortalise a treasured family photograph by having it transferred onto canvas? A canvas print courtesy of Stylize Display Graphics in Haverhill would surely take pride of place in dad’s study!

Of course, you could always make your dad feel really special with his own personalised polo shirt, T-shirt or fleece. Whether it’s heartfelt or tongue in cheek, KiiWii clothing will fully embroider your chosen images and lettering onto a piece of clothing and with no minimum order, you can just buy the one and keep costs down.

How about a new watch or piece of jewellery? Of course, your dad could be cool and wear earrings (trying to imagine my 61 year-old father sporting a hoop and it’s not a pretty thought). Tony Strowger Jewellers has a wide range of men’s watches and jewellery, including Skagen watches, cufflinks and quality pens.

If your dad is a bit of a car nut check out the services that Wicked Wheels, the largest mobile alloy refurbisher in the UK,  has to offer - guaranteed to make his alloy wheels as good as new!

Maybe he enjoys a tipple or two?  If so C2C Wines in Haverhill is the perfect choice. Home to a wide range of quality wines of the Languedoc, you are sure to find a wine to suit your father’s taste, whether it’s a crisp white, full-bodied red, sparkling wine or related accessories.

You could always treat your Dad to a curry from Haverhill Tandoori.  Freshly cooked, tasty Indian curry delivered free to your door, if you live in Haverhill!

So with just a couple of days to go, make sure you take just a little time to find a thoughtful gift for dad this Father’s Day – after all, he deserves it!
