Writing this as it rains outside, I must admit that the idea of getting the bike out is not at the top of my ‘to do’ list.

However, this miserable weather must come to an end soon, and for those of you who simply can’t wait, there are plenty of outdoor activities taking place in Haverhill and the surrounding area just this week.

Haverhill Cycling Club – what a hardy group of bikers! The local club organises regular non-competitive road cycling rides around Haverhill and the local countryside, which range from 10 to 50 miles.

Car Boot Sales – you want them; we’ve got them! Just this weekend we have the Cornard United FC Car Boot Sale, the Home Farm Car Boot Sale, Bury St Edmunds Car Boot Sale, the Woolpit Car Boot Sale, the Rougham Airfield Car Boot Sale, and the Cavendish & Glemsford Car Boot Sale!

On May 6th, why not come along to East Town Park for a Spring Ramble? Perfect for the whole family, a ranger will lead you on a stroll around the Haverhill park, looking wildlife activity and any other signs of Spring. Just don't forget that sensible footwear!

Also on May 6th, Parsonage House’s garden is open as part of the National Gardens Scheme (NGS) – three acres of formal gardens, a three-acre flower meadow and a further three acres of Orchard.
