Did you know that local family-run landscape gardeners TLP Landscapes also participate in Autocross? They recently triumphed by taking both first and second place in Guernsey's Winter Championship!

Shaun Bichard from the TLP Team won this year's Winter Championship trophy, just ahead of TLP Landscapes boss Tony Le Prevost in second place. Leon Smale and Dean Smith are also part of the TLP Team, Leon just missing out on 3rd place in the Winter Championship due to car trouble at the final meeting.

Autocross is a minimal contact motorsport and locally takes place every other Sunday on the sands of Chouet Bay, through the winter from September to May annually - with a break for Christmas. Minimal contact does not mean a lack of action, as there are always slides, bumps, the occasional rolling car, and lots of great racing action.

The Summer Championship began yesterday and will run until the middle of May, with a final fun meeting where pretty much anything goes as far as competing vehicles. Just like the Winter Championship, this competition is for individual drivers; competition is fierce, so TLP Team's drivers will be battling each other for glory all the way up until the final race meeting in May.

There is also a Team Championship and this year TLP Team has been dominant, with a succession of great performances; they currently lead the championship by a massive 27 points! The TLP Team race in the distinctive bright green and white livery that you will see on the TLP Landscapes' lorry on local roads, so if you go along to Chouet this season be sure to cheer TLP Team on to victory.

Autocross is open to anyone who can meet the requirements for preparing a car with all the safety features required to compete, and no special licence is required locally to race. The local Autocross Club is always happy to see new faces - spectators and new members are always very welcome.

We are sure that many of our readers will wish to join us in congratulating Shaun, Tony and the rest of TLP Team on their success.

If you are interested in getting involved with Autocross locally then please phone John on 07781 430831 for further information, or check out the Facebook page for the Guernsey Autocross Club at this link.
