After the success of last week’s A-Level results, the Maynard School has achieved another outstanding set of results at GCSE level.
GCSE results 2011
• Percentage of students gaining A* Grades 46%
• Percentage of students gaining A* or A Grades 81%
• Percentage of students gaining A*, A or B Grades 95%
24 students, nearly half of all candidates, scored straight A* or A Grades, with the average points per candidate score being the highest it has been for three years.
Success stories include:
Lucy Cross, from Exeter, who gained 10 A* Grades.
Katherine New, from Exeter, who gained 10 A* and 1 A Grade.
Sylvie Goodlow from Exeter who achieved 8 A* and 2 A Grades.
Pip Halpin from Broadclyst, Xueqin Qui from Exeter, Alex Sage from Kenn and Bess Templeton from Taunton, all of whom gained 8 A*s and 1 A Grade.
Emily Daugherty, from Exmouth, and Sophie Groenhof from Exeter, who both gained 7 A* and 2 A Grades.
Lizzy Hamilton, from Bovey Tracey, who gained 6 A* and 4 A Grades.
Rachel Christie, from Topsham and Sarah Walker, from Crediton, who both scored 6 A*’s and 3 A Grades.
Twins Isabel and Abagail Crackett, from Okehampton, who between them achieved 9 A*’s and 8 A Grades.
