Old Maynardian and former England Netball player Joanna Binns visited the Maynard School to run a Netball Masterclass for 42 talented young players earlier this week. The event was aimed at challenging and extending the ability of young players locally, and students aged between 10 and 11 from local schools got to work with Jo on improving their netball skills and techniques.

PE Teacher Gill Cameron said ‘We are always so proud when a former pupil goes on to become successful in their chosen sporting field. We are again delighted to welcome Jo Binns back to the school to help the next generation of netball players to improve their skills and hopefully inspire them to take their netball passion to the next level. It is such a great opportunity for the girls and they thoroughly enjoyed the challenges Jo set them.'

Masterclass leader, Jo, from Okehampton, played Centre for the England Netball team from 2007 until 2009 and now plays for Bath. She is currently the South West Netball Development Officer for the Excel Academy.
