After a long time of watching this restaurant. My wife, and I, finally plucked up the courage to give this place a try.  We were not disappointed.
The restaurant is very clean. Tables lightly set and the chairs are comfortable. Lighting is pretty good. No problem reading the menu. The toilets are compact and exceptionally clean. This was a very pleasant surprise. An area that many an Indian inspired restaurant leaves out. The kitchen is partially open plan so you can see some of the food being prepared and, that the cleanliness extends there too.
The bar area is in the corner and on show too.
The menu itself is pretty clear, concise, and brief. Not a lot here to get yourself complicated with. That said. If you are of Indian or similar background. There are lots of items here that you would be familiar with. Maybe some you would even get excited about. If you are new to the concept of Indian Street food, and been tempted to give it a try. This is the place for you.
It is important to understand what this restaurant is aiming to achieve. They are trying to introduce and build upon the Indian Street Food concept. This is really a variation of Tapas. You are best to select a mixture of dishes and sample pieces of them all, over conversation and drinks of your choice. Very informal. To build on the Indian street atmosphere, the artwork is Bollywood posters, and the flatware is traditional stainless steel plates and beakers.
The food is good quality and, indeed tasty with good presentation. But although inspired by Indian Street Food. If you think you will be transported back to the tastes of Mumbai or Delhi. This is not going to happen. The food here is based on, and not a reproduction of traditional Street Food. It is created to a little more of a European taste. It is not fiery hot. This does not detract in any way from its quality or origin.
We had a good mix from the selection. Of note, I will say the Dosa was very good, but a little expensive for what it is, and in comparison to other likewise restaurants. That said you can’t get one anywhere else in Eastbourne so it’s a cornered market.
We met the owner who was very nice and showed a real interest in all the guests that came in while we were there.
Our visit was better than expected, and we did enjoy the food. I’m sure we will be back in the future.

Tuk Tuk has been my favourite Eastbourne restaurant ever since I discovered it. With the new interior and slightly tweaked menu, it’s even better than before ! Delicious Indian food in a contemporary, stylish eaterie. We had the Vegetarian Thali, Three Way Chicken and Chilli Panner with Popadoms. All of it was perfect !

The wife took me in for lunch, her having eaten here before and her also knowing the owners.
I do not know the owners so do not feel biased in any way: my review, as always, is based on my experience of the meal.
What a fantastic, vibrant venue! Brilliant colours, very open and spacious!
The only staff member I met was the Waiter/Maite'D and he was polite, friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help (without being intrusive).
I chose to eat from the tapas menu and am glad I did! The Lamb Vindaloo is one of the best I have ever eaten. Too many places make a vindaloo all about heat, forgetting about flavour. Tuk Tuk's Konkan Vindaloo was full of fruity flavour, tender and pleasantly hot.
The mutton curry was again full of flavour and tender, without being fatty and is a true gem. I'd even guess it's the chef's signature piece, with hits of fruit and spice and a mild heat.
Good portions, great prices. A real treat that will call us back to Eastbourne often.

We booked this restaurant as we were having a weekend away in Eastbourne. Upon arrival we were the only people that were in the restaurant, but that quickly changed with people arriving. The food was fresh and different and my friends and I all said that it was good to get out of our usual 'Indian' comfort zone. Our waiter was patient and helpful and efficient. Thank you all very much for a wonderful night out. I will definitely recommend this to anyone who says they are visiting Eastbourne.

I had been looking forward to visiting this place for a while and finally made it.
The first impression was good:Nice clean place, attractive decor with comfortable chairs and Indian movie posters on the wall.
The service was very friendly too.Studying the menu in detail, I was a bit disappointed:
The Tapas dishes are £5+ each and they recommend buying 3 or 4 per person as a main course. They don't come with rice or bread. The actual main course menu is very limited and so are the rice or naan dishes. I asked for a peshwari naan and was told they didn't do those.
The real disappointment came with my massala chai: a cup with a masala tea bag and water in it! and (at least) a little jug of hot milk. The 2 tapas dishes I ordered were ok, but the garlic naan was about half the size of your usual nan in an Indian restaurant. I also suspect it wasn't home-made or it wasn't fresh. I could also see only one person in the kitchen at Saturday lunchtime, so I don't think that food is freshly prepared.
I did mention the masala chai and the naan to the waiter on leaving. It's not the worst place I've ever been to, but to be taken serious as an eating venue for Indian food, Tuk Tuk needs a lot of improvement.

Amazing little gem of a place right in the heart of Eastbourne. Absolutely delicious Indian street food which you just can’t get enough of! The smaller portion sizes are great as you can have a nice selection of different dishes to share or to yourself. The refurb is beautiful, very warming friendly atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Highly recommend this wonderful place and it’s all reasonably priced. One of my favourite places to go in Eastbourne, a unique fresh addition to the town!

Great food, atmosphere and friendly staff. I'm not an easy customer with many dietary requirements, but the menu is all clearly labelled so you don't even have to ask. Have recommended to friends and family.

Amazing food, everything was delicious. The kids (age 10 and 12) both cleared their plates too. Staff were excellent at explaining the dishes and helping us choose. Can't wait to go back!

Tuk, tuk food, staff and atmosphere is truly amazing! Definitely the best place to eat out in Eastbourne. So many choices and the food is cooked fresh! Not too heavy like other curries, they serve the perfect amount! Can't wait to go back again.

I love the food. The seafood thali is my favourite closely followed by the Mumbai road side biriyani, and
I always make sure i leave room for the gulab jamun.
The service is fantastic, really friendly staff. It has a great atmosphere, and is one of my favourite restaurants.

The service was friendly and efficient, Bollywood music and film posters round it off nicely , I’ll have another Kingfisher .Great venue , great concept , well done !

I like the new look Tuk Tuk and the food is just as good as before. I couldn't fault the food, atmosphere, service or value for money. The only issue that annoyed me was to be asked to leave as the table was needed for other customers. We had pre-booked the table for 6pm but was asked to settle the bill, albeit politely, after just one hour and 15 minutes. That's not good. Two-hours is a reasonable limit on a busy night.
