With free parking (next to the Retail Park) this friendly marina, called 'The Waterfront' is worth a mooch-around on any day, especially in the sunshine. The yachts, sailing-dinghies & cruisers in the harbour, give the place a continental feel, and the walk around the inner basin is well-worth your time. We loved checking out the different vessels, there, and watching the lock-gates open & close, allowing the boats out to sea. A wide range of eateries is available - from a Harvester to Thai cuisine, Italian to Tex-Mex - though we love De Leito's coffee-shop (run by our friend, Bruno) that serves fresh paninis, sandwiches & yummy cakes! Spend a day enjoying the sun & ambiance...you will want to return.

Stopped here on the way home from a weekend break. Lovely place if you like boats and sailing, it's ok as well if you know nothing about either but like to stroll around having a good nose into how other people pass the time. Plenty of places for a bite to eat or just a coffee. I was told that it was a good venue for an evening meal but we didn't make it as the bus service from Eastbourne was beyond our understanding. Can't imagine spending a day there but good for a couple of hours.

We have often walked around the harbour in nice weather and found it very enjoyable. We parked at the nearby "crumbles" car park before starting out. there are always lots of boats here to see.

Wander around the harbour and dream your dreams about owning a boat, and expensive boat! look at the fish in the water, watch the bridges opening, and the boats coming and going, and then try and choose where to eat, with so many places you are spoilt for choice. You can then go and visit the shopping retail park area or cinema
During the Summer months you can do a harbour boat trip, sadly it had finished for the season .

we thought we would walk from Eastbourne pier to the marina following the boards along the seashore that tell you how many minuets to the next board , it took about i hour . when we got to the end building work had closed the last bit of the walk and we were told a route that we now know was a very long way round when we could have just walked into the estate and cut a long detour short , not a very nice thing to do to keep people out of their posh estate. the bus back was every hour and just missed it so we had to walk back , the little land train that does the route was not running . never got to see the marina so perhaps next year when we know what we are doing

I met a friend for coffee last weekend at"Seasons" and what a delightful setting in Eastbournes Marina. The coffee is really good and reasonably priced. The staff are very attentive and polite and you don't feel rushed. We also had a toasted tea cake which was delicious. All in all a lovely morning even the weather was good.Such a lovely way to spend a relaxing Saturday morning after a busy week.Do pay "Seasons" a visit you will not be disappointed.

We had a very relaxing walk throughout this marina. The weather was actually hot on this September morning. Calm and pleasant surroundings, clean and tidy too. Lots of cafes, restaurants and shops. Quite expensive surrounding properties overlooking the marina, which was packed with maritime vessels. Lots of dogs being walked and elderly couples out and about, which was good to see. The place had a bit of an international feel to it.

On a fine day on our recent trip to EASTBOURNE we caught a number 99 bus outside the pier to sovereign harbour,we used our bus passes and it was a good service. The bus stops outside ASDA and it just a short walk to the Marina which contains many retail outlets ,bars and restaurants. The setting is very pleasant and we had a fleeting visit from an inquisitive seal, cormorants and other bird species were in abundance. We took a stroll on the pebble beach but unfortunately the rains came.

You cant go wrong with a visit to the harbour. There are many eating places to cater for lunch or dinner. Try Di Lieto's Coffee Lounge for breakfast, morning coffee or lunch and maybe the Harbour grill. The views are lovely and you can let your imagination go as you look at the boats and yachts that are moored. You might be able to watch the bridge go up or wave to the day trippers as they pass. Walk around the harbour path and spot some fish or an eel or two. A pleasant interlude in the day.

I regularly come down to the Sovereign harbour for walks. I like to view the boats and people-watch. It is a working harbour and interesting sights can be found, for example, the crane moving boats to the chandler's yard. Of course there are many restaurants and may be some of them are over-priced but you don't have to use them.
