This is beautiful theatre and is always a pleasure to visit. Plenty of on street parking and restaurants nearby.
A good variety of different performances to suit all tastes. One of Eastbournes gems.

absolutely the best pantomime I have ever seen. I have never laughed so much in my life... honestly worth the drive from Portsmouth to Eastbourne and will be coming back. very talented actors and Anthony sat hicks as Nellie was a blast..The villan Carli norris was fabulous all so funny and had the crowd in fits of laughter. walked out looking like we had coat hangers in our mouths. best money I've ever spent thanks to all for a great evening.x

This is a lovely theatre all run by volunteers of all ages because the greedy council wont support them & wanted to make this truly wonderful theatre into a car park been to a couple of shows here always packed out so best to book seats ,this time we went to watch circus of horrors wow what a show weird & strange ,everywhere you sit is clear few but row q is where they have the sound desks so would avoid the higher seats numbers if you don't like it loud they also have spaces for wheelchair uses & a bar with crisp etc & ice creams at individuals wow worth a visit to this wonderful theatre

A beautiful, privately owned, Victorian theatre run by very friendly people. It's a bit tired in places but undergoing extensive renovations at the moment and I'm sure the finished result will be fantastic. Regular shows throughout the year catering for a wide audience. Definitely a jewel in Eastbourne's crown.

This is a long estabilshed theatre that is now undergoing a major refurbishment. The shows that are on this summer are diverse and well priced (compared to other Thetatres in town i.e Congress).
The theatre is mostly staffed by volunteers who are most welcoming. When in Eastbourne make sure you find time to visit.

went to watch a Bohemian Rhapsody evening. The music was bad and the singers were not what I would have called listening material. The performers were not what I call value for money. By the interval myself and my friend decided to leave.

We went to see The Bohemians last week (who incidentally were absolutely fabulous) and thank goodness we ignored the reviews about the bad seats, because they were absolutely fine. Maybe the circle seats' leg rooms are smaller than the stalls but we were in the stalls and they were absolutely fine (and my girlfriend's 5'10" and hates pokey seats!). The foyer was in the process of refurbishment, and, yes, was a little tatty, but I assume that will soon be fixed.
Sure, the theatre is showing its age a little, here and there, but if I look that good aged 150, I'll be well chuffed! We had a super night out for the princely sum of £26 each INCLUDING beers before and GnTs in the interval!
A refreshing change from most theatres' rip-off bar prices.
Highly recommended.

First comedy club night at the Hippodrome. Felt lovely and cosy. The Theatre is being lovingly taken care of and can't wait to see it finished.
