Disappointed after the good reviews.<br>Masala Dosa was small and not crisp. Filing was almost tasteless with almost no sign of masala.<br>Lamb Biryani was OK. Large amount served in banana leaf. Problem was lack of spicing. You'd do better with a ready meal Biryani from M&S or Sainsbury.<br>Service was pleasant and polite.

Ideal for people watching if seating on outside tables. Went for the weekday lunch special. Did not disappoint. Nicely presented in individual bowls accompanied by sauces. Choice of meat or no meat. Tasty and hot. Nice cold lager. I have been back several times. Fresh clean loos. Very helpful staff. Very good value under £10 pp when I went.

The food at MALAYALAM is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared and you can chose among many menu options. I love the ambiance and service at the place. The management is so friendly with the guests and always takes care to offer the best quality! I highly recommend this place.

I love this place. The food is so good, far better than most of the other Indian restaurants in Eastbourne that sell "English" curries with no heat and generic sauces. If you want authentic South Indian flavours then you won't do better than this place, not locally anyway. As someone who grew up in Croydon, with a massive South Indian community, I know what great authentic food is meant to taste like.<br><br>Apart from the food, the staff are lovely, always welcoming and accommodating. If funds would allow, I would eat there every day!!

Visted this restaurant today, for the first time. My wife is from Kerala (South India) so has very high standards, when it comes to India food. The food was authentic and very well prepared. The couple who ran the restaurant were also very welcoming and helpful.<br><br>Would definitely recommend this place for a visit, if you live in East Sussex or Eastbourne or even if your on holiday there! We will definitely return soon!
