The prep work was performed by efficient , friendly engineers. The installation a couple of days later was both efficient and performed after detailed discussion with the customer's needs. Everything was done as tidily as possible with no fuss. Damian the engineer couldn't have been more friendly and informative , answering every question patiently. I am looking forward to what has started as a very good service.

Terrible Zyxel Router and Mesh Extender - often throws up issues with Ring and other products due to the way the routers are programmed.
Referred back to the third party company when their simple support fix did not work.

Come on, Amazon - Ring and Sky both worked elsewhere!

Have been with Lightning Fibre since July 2022 and the service itself continues to be excellent - stable connection, consistently fast speeds, and minimal downtime. Customer service via phone/ticket has previously been knowledgeable and efficient when dealing with technical queries.

However, I'm dropping two stars due to issues with engineer appointments and follow-up communication. I contacted them on Saturday 2nd November to upgrade to their 2.5 gigabit service during their Winter Sale, which required an engineer to replace the ONT (modem). They responded impressively quickly (within 4 minutes) and offered me slots between Wednesday and Friday, morning or afternoon. I agreed to Wednesday afternoon.

When the engineer didn't show up, I raised this in the original ticket at 17:08 but received no response. The following morning, I closed that ticket at 09:54 and opened a new one at 09:57 about the no-show. Again, they responded promptly to the new ticket (within 23 minutes), apologised and offered either morning or afternoon on Friday, which I agreed to afternoon, but again the engineer didn't show up with no prior notification or follow-up. This wasted my time on both occasions.

Even more concerning was the complete lack of follow-up after I responded to cancel the upgrade due to these no-shows - over 24 hours have passed without any follow-up or response, despite customer service being open daily 8am-8pm (excluding Christmas Day).

It's particularly disappointing as this is my first experience needing an engineer since the initial installation. While the core service remains excellent, both the engineer appointment system and their customer communication have shown issues - no proactive updates about missed appointments and slower responses to ongoing tickets compared to new tickets.

Would I still recommend Lightning Fibre? Yes, but be wary if you need any engineer visits later on.

We had Liam and Jacob round to install our Fibre on Monday the 19th. The installation was very professional, and the house was kept tidy. The service worked at the first attempt, and the information given was relevant to getting everyone online. The speed so far is a phenomenal improvement

Cully and Glenn were fantastic, they had a difficult job sorting out the tree, which they did without any trouble. They were amazing guys who went the extra mile installing our internet. Helped us with our wifi, really lovely chaps. So nice to see such wonderful, helpful people today.

Ordered fibre broadband on a Friday, and installation carried out on the following Wednesday. To be fair I believe the normal lead-in time is a week, but I took advantage of a cancellation. Installation went very smoothly by Dom and Ricky who worked efficiently, and left all clean and tidy. They also respected home by wearing shoe protection. Internet now significantly faster, and thus far, haven’t had the buffering ‘circle of death’!

We were pleased with the response to our query and the customer service. However, there were some concerns about the installation: we expected that they would lay the cable around the edge of the lawn/driveway but in fact they laid it across the lawn. Our worry is that when the lawn is scarified prior to re-seeding the cable will be exposed and may be damaged.
Another disappointment is that the router was left on the floor with wires everywhere rather than attached to the wall.
