We ate at La Locanda Del Duca last night while staying in Eastbourne for the weekend. The menu was varied, the decor elegant and the food excellent. What was really outstanding through was the service and the staff - extremely professional and worthy of a top restaurant in Rome but friendly at the same time. Congratulations you are all outstanding.
The best Italian restaurant we have ever eaten in outside of Italy. Very impressive and refined. Our only disappointment is that we don't live nearer!

I have been visiting this restaurant for more than ten years and the quality of the food, the service and lovely surroundings keep bringing me back.

On the last night of our 2 day break we decided to visit La Locanda Del Duca and I am genuinely pleased that it never slipped the net. The staff on arrival were extremely attentive and ensured we were seated swiftly. The menu was as good as it gets; I started with the mussels and followed up with a near perfect Fillet Rossini. The food was well presented and the overall experience excellent. This is certainly on my to do again list.

We were staying in Eastbourne on business and went to La Locanda Del Duca for an early dinner. Claire had been complaining that there was no good food in Eastbourne, but this restaurant changed her mind, especially after the delicious Minestrone soup! (This was the second best Minestrone I have ever eaten, the best being that at the Hamilton Princess in Bermuda.)
The service was good and friendly, and we really appreciated the owner stopping for a chat.
Highly recommended, we will definitely return.

Attended a charity dinner here last week organised by Citizens Advice.
We were looked after wonderfully well, the food was excellent and the company great.Luca and his staff really made an effort for us.
I have eaten here before and have always enjoyed it but the way they coped with a full house was wonderful.

We visited La Locanda Del Duca on Sunday evening, food was excellent and our evening was made extra special by a singer Tom Fitzpatrick performing in the restaurant.
The evening was very lively and he got everyone participating and up dancing, will definitely be returning to this restaurant

Been next door to Pomodoro's a few times but this was the first time i have been here. My parents come a lot and love it. They are both run by the same family. This one is a little more up market than Pomodoro but that is also very good. A little quieter maybe?
The staff were all very attentive. Kept coming over to check on us.
Food was excellent.
Liver was to die for. Would have liked mash and onion gravy but that is just me!
Veal was good and tasty but not special.Chicken was exceptional.
Roast potatoes were really good as was the veg. Only real complaint would be there was a small dish of potatoes and veg to share between 4 which was not really enough. All our starters were very good.
Worth a visit but you will need to book.

This is not our first visit but it is fair to say that this restaurant never disappoints. Despite it being a cold ,wet night the place was full!!. This was due ,not only excellent service and food, but also to the talent of singer Tom Fitzpatrick who entertained the diners to an evening of great music. This was his first visit but won`t be his last.
This restaurant deserves the success it has because it provides the "Complete Package" GREAT FOOD, SERVICE and WELCOME. Having recently retired after 20years in catering its` great to find such a place on our doorstep.

We only manage to get to Eastbourne once a year, and always look forward very much to dinner at La Locanda Del Duca. And with good reason, because the food is unfailingly superb. The menu encompasses a good range of typical Italian cuisine, and prices are very fair for the consistently high quality. It has a pleasant, bustling atmosphere, and the staff and knowledgable and accommodating. Highly recommended.

What can I say! It was our sons 18 birthday and we had 8 of us enjoying a fantastic meal, the food was amazing my husband's Italian and he thought it was wonderful. The staff (in particular Luigi) were very attentive and it made our son's evening spectacular. Thank you all for an amazing evening. Can't wait to come back. We live in Suffolk so it won't be that soon!

Went to Locanda on a Saturday evening and whilst it was very busy we were not rushed or crammed in next to other diners. The two or three course set menu is excellent value for money.

Outstanding food and music - love the staff, always friendly and polite. Highly recommended :-)
Same as Pomodora next door (sister company) except quieter, little extras while you wait like olives/ bread and more of a relaxed atmosphere.

The welcome we received from the all-Italian staff was very friendly.
The food was excellent We eat out a lot, but this was the best Italian meal we have ever had.It is not cheap (eg. wine from £17 per bottle) and groups of ten or more have to pay a 10% surcharge.
However, we came away feeling we had had a really special treat of a meal.

Had a really nice meal here when we were visiting Eastbourne a few days ago with my husband, sister and brother in law. Really friendly staff with a great menu with loads of choice and not too expensive.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Eastbourne, if not the best.
There are fixed two course and three course menus and a very healthy A La Carte with a large selection. Some may say that with so many items available that this is not necessarily a good sign. Not so, we all had a different choice of starters, mains and desserts, all the food was excellent and clean plates indicated this was so. Service is quick efficient and pleasant without being over enthusiastic. Food is hot and well presented.
The "Owner" offers a greeting and warm welcome to all and really creates a very pleasant atmosphere. The cost is reasonable for the level of food and you will not be disappointed with a visit here.

A very good restaurant for lunch or dinner. Very attentive staff and excellent menu. The food was just superb and such a big portion I could not finish my main meal. Maybe I shouldn't have had a starter but everything is so tempting.

Sunday evenings in Eastbourne seem, from a cursory glance to be Italian - in terms of dining out. A good number of Italian restaurants plus the chain pizza ex and prezzo to be found but a fair number of privately owned and operated alternatives. How to choose?
A full Sunday lunchtime, lots of children at the tables and people leaving clutching their full tummies ........ all good signs. We chose La Locanda Del Duca had all those signs at lunchtime so we chose it for dinner.
Archetypal flourishes and courtly manners from the waiting staff who were friendly and efficient were a promising welcome and watching their subsequent greetings to later diners were similarly humorous and caring. The list of wine by a glass was well chosen and my Orvieto was superb - husband's Chianti less so but still on the 'good' spectrum. A modest number of starters, our choice of mozzarella, tomatoes and avocado was simply perfect - emphasis on 'simply'.
Calves liver (ugh) followed and the sauce on my salmon was generous which together with more than enough fresh vegetables meant left overs.Despite being urged to be adventurous the husband stuck to ice cream (I didn't use the extra spoon kindly provided). A bit of nosiness across the tables displayed lovely looking pastry desserts.
Large expresso coffees followed by limoncello granita finished us off! OK we had only 3 glasses of wine, one dessert, but 2 aperitifs and large coffees so our bill of £71 was damn good value.
We took advantage of the 2 or 3 course choice menu and the lunchtime version looked even better.Go and try the ambiance - understated true Italian and the food which mirrors that.

The food here is excellent! Definitely no complaints and large portions and not expensive. Decor is 3* though but food is 5*!

Sunday October 2nd saw 74 people descend on this establishment for a Golden Wedding celebratory lunch and - wow - did the staff "turn it all on" for us. Right from producing the anniversary menus to serving the cake and coffee nothing was too much trouble for the dedicated waiters. It must be a family concern for them to work so hard (and then reopen for normal business only a few minutes after the last of our party had departed).
In spite of the numbers a wide ranging menu was on offer the only problem being which of the dishes to plump for. Everything was delivered beautifully presented and piping hot - a real tribute to the Chefs and kitchen staff who must have worked like Trojans. The sorbets and limoncella were additional welcome touches, the wines were excellent and reasonably priced as was the champagne on reception.Everyone went away full of praise for the restaurant and I know that my best friend truly had "a day to remember".

The more sophisticated of the two adjoining restaurants, La Locanda continues to deserve its glowing reputation. the welcome is brisk, friendly and efficient, the menu extensive, covering the standard and popular Italian dishes as well as a very good range of meat and fish. The 'Chef Recommends...' change regularly and are well worth considering. Allergies are taken in their stride. Wines are by the bottle and glass (there are no half bottles) and the fairly priced. The standard of cooking is high and the Owner is always in and out of his two restaurants ensuring that they are running smoothly. It is very good value for money.
La Locanda commands a very loyal local clientele, is very popular and booking is highly advisable. It is the best restaurant in town by a street.
