If you have too much money and nothing to do with them, then this is a place to go. The quality of food is disappointing taking into consideration the prices.

La Locanda is one of the more “up-market” Italian restaurants in Eastbourne – as reflected in the quality of its food but also its prices. The shared warm goat’s cheese starter was appetising and contrasted nicely with the sweet pears and caramelised balsamic. Our monkfish and seabass were fresh, nicely cooked and accompanied by seasonal vegetables. Prosecco set the scene and a bottle of Montepulciano was pleasant although slightly overpriced. And that summarises our experience really: the food was good but we’ve eaten better Italian food at less cost elsewhere.

It is very very difficult to find fault with this first class Italian restaurant.
..... err there is no sea view!Otherwise, the menus are interesting, and vast. The cooking is expert. The tastes are perfect. The wine list is Italian but wide ranging. The prices are good value for money and the lunchtime "specials" are excellent with a quality choice at reasnable prices.
Sunday lunch offers British roasts and the Italian menu. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional.
Perfection!!!!!!!

We ate from the 3 course set menu on a Saturday evening - my husband especially liked the king crabs starter and I liked the veal in a mushroom and cream sauce. Plentiful vegetables were served with the meat dish. I only had room for ice cream for desert but my husband thought the tiramisu was one of the best he had eaten. We had a glass of wine each and a limoncello surprise at the end of the meal. the restaurant was busy with a couple of large parties, but the service was very attentive. I would recommend this restaurant and hope to visit again if in the area.

A wet Tuesday night is not the most lively in Eastbourne, but even so the restaurant had a very pleasant atmosphere and all the staff were charming and friendly. The food was good too! Salmon followed by calves liver was really good as was my colleagues mussels and veal. Good menu and good value.

We had a meal just as it opened on a Friday evening at 5.30pm. Starting with king prawns and calamari. The calamari, in particular was plentiful and delicious. I had the spaghetti vongole in a tomato base, which was good. My husband had the tagliatelle in a lemon and saffron sauce with king prawns. It was rich and creamy and he said it was one of the best pasta dishes he had tasted and we have been to Italy a few times!
Service was excellent - attentive and friendly. The restaurant does do a £19.95 2-course dinner deal including any pasta, risotto or gnocchi dish but actually the dishes were about the same price. Pasta dishes were extremely good value for the quality of the cooking and ingredients. We will return!

First visit and wasn't disappointed. Great atmosphere (lighting/music) with very attentive staff that made you feel you were part of the family. We all had different starters/mains/desert and every dish was cooked to perfection.

We had a fantastic meal here Christmas Eve 2017. Very helpful and attentive staff without being intrusive. All three courses of our meal were exceptionally tasty and beautifully cooked. The ambiance is great, tables spaced perfectly, background music at perfect pitch. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Excellent food always! Good service usually and a pleasure to come here. The reason for my just less than perfect rate is we booked for 12 o’clock and when we arrived they said they were not ready for us as they usually start at 12:30. However that little glitch will not prevent us returning.
