Outstanding! Service food and attention to COVID rules.
My husband and I went for lunch, phoning ahead as we wanted space for a buggy. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and they had moved a table to one side to allow plenty of space for the pushchair. The mussels were fabulous, scallops very good, followed by the monkfish (delightful) and risotto di mare (excellent), with a tiramisu (yum!) to finish.

This is the very best Italian meal we have had outside Italy and we have had our fair share. The compliance with current COVID regulations was impeccable. The staff were excellent in service and humour. The ambience was as a restaurant in Italy, busy and full of life. The food was outstanding in every way. The cost is slightly higher than other restaurants in the area but, this is expressed in the quality and presentation on your plate.
It was a fantastic dining experience. Well done to the whole team.

We have been to this restaurant before and the food ,service and friendly welcome are just as good as always. It is a pity that we don't live closer to Eastbourne otherwise we would adopt this restaurant as our local ( and more frequent )treat.
Current social distancing measures were well observed with plenty of space between tables and well placed plastic screens which did not detract from the atmosphere.
Now to the food. The fixed price menu was for the quality reasonable at £23.50 for 3 courses. The minestrone soup was so flavoursome and the veal escalope delicious in the authentic Italian way. Desserts were also very good. Certainly looking to return in the not too distant future!!

I can recommend this restaurant to everyone who love delicious food, friendly service and peaceful atmosphere. I have visited this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. Always have friendly welcome from all staff and the food is to die for. During this difficult time they did very well with the social distancing, tables have enough space, as per recommendation from government. Everywhere you can find hand sanitisers and staff sanitise everything what is need it to be. Will be back very soon.

Food is nice but really wasn't that stunning for the price put forward. Staff were friendly and well mannered but was disappointed that the rack of lamb wasn't as tender or succulent. The breading mostly fell off, wasn't exactly crispy so maybe the chef changed compared to the previous reviews I've read here...

The 2014 Brunello Di Montalcino was the biggest highlight. But quite ironic when the wine outshines the food.
Had the tiramisu, custard tart and creme brulee to try, and they're nice. Nothing bad or to die for, but as you would expect it to be.

Excellent food, excellent service but should have got the bill right the first time! The waitress got a bit shirty when we explained that she had worked the bill out incorrectly.

This was our first visit to Locanda since the Covid crisis started but apart from all the procedures in place to protect both visitors and staff nothing has really changed. The food was as good as ever, the staff were very friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere despite screens, masks etc. If you are thinking of eating out in Eastbourne and looking for quality Italian food at a very reasonable price then Locanda is the place for you.

This is a smart looking restaurant in the town centre . It was very busy on the midweek evening we were there and it was during the hot weather spell so the aircon when it was eventually turned on was appreciated Tables were quite close together but there were Perspex dividers between some of the tables We ordered Parma ham and melon followed by veal Milanese and spaghetti . The food was good but quite pricey and even higher than some similar London restaurants

The food was very good but some of the staff ie the male waiters seemed very grumpy. Unlike our waitress who was friendly and helpful. They all more masks which was reassuring but large plastic menus were not sanitised between guests so not good. We were given our bill before we had finished eating so felt we were obliged to leave despite there being several other tables with people still eating
