Fantastic medieval festival. Lots of fun, a lot of things to do. You need at least 2 days to really appreciate and enjoy it. Luckily, they do weekend camping tickets too :)

Just come back from the battle wkend . great time. Only thing is the prices for food as usual are ridiculous. £25 for 5 rolls £10 for 5 cans of coke. Between £1.50 and £2.00 for water. Its so hot think it's taking the Mick a bit. But cost aside great time. All the actors etc are great all really happy to talk and help out if needed. Great weekend.

Beautiful medieval castle with a moat surrounding it. We didn't visit the inside of the castle but took a walk in the gardens and grounds of which there are plenty. A cafe serves standard fare. Gardens were very well maintained..also houses the science observatory which is supposed to be very good. We traveled with our dog, so both castle and the observatory were out of bounds. Could easily spend half day just in the grounds and gardens. Overall a good day out..

Excellent place, beautiful architecture, big garden suitable for a long walk or picnics. You can only visit the inside of the castle with a guided tour they provide which is very interesting, the tour is not suitable for children, the interior of the castle is much more modern but there are still some interesting details of the medieval times.

Although we didn't go in the castle this time as we took our dog. The grounds were a joy to behold a fabulous place to walk with such lovely gardens to walk amongst. Then on to the cafe for a nice cuppa and Sandwich. Can't wait to return and go inside the castle
