I am not a big fan of piers, but do go there for the very good and inexpensive fish and chip takeaway at its entrance. You will also then become close acquaintances with largely well-behaved sea gulls as you eat them....

Beautiful pier with some street vendors. Prawns were nice but a bit expensive. It's a shame that the pier was burnt down six months after I visited there.

Few nice shops there was a glass shop you could watch the man making various ornaments but nothing for the kids to do past half hour on nice walk though up to end of the pier

We went on the pier for a drink in the bar one evening after a stroll along the seafront, at about 9.30pm, but when we got there the bar was shutting! Disappointing.

first came aged 11 to play the penny arcade - glad it has now found a buyer and also that despite the fire it is still worth a visit.

The repair work following last years fire is still underway but it is worth a visit all the same.
The views across the bay are beautiful and it can be quite bracing when the wind blows.
A good place to clear the cobwebs!

Pier was having work done so wasnt great to look at. The glass shop is a hidden gem. You can watch the people making the glass and its very reasonably priced.

This pier is specifically designed for the quiet outing. There aren't any games or rides, but there are plenty of shops and cafes. If you want some entertainment on the pier, there are also fishing opportunities on the rear end of the pier. The ice cream is nice and the atmosphere is calming.

However, if you are looking for flashy fun there is a nightclub situated on the pier at a cheap entry price of £2 on Wednesdays.

Despite the fire they had recently, the place is still thriving.

If you feel like having a nice cup of tea or coffee, or reading on a sunny bench, it is a good option.

Recently been staying in Eastbourne and having seen the fire on Eastbourne pier last year when watching the news on tv, we were not sure what to expect. Work is in progress at present and once past the building work, there is a lovely Victoria tearoom which was very popular and had been recommended to us. There are the usual assortment of shops - gifts, clothes, handbags, rock, fudge, ice cream etc and we spent an enjoyable afternoon. Good views of Beachy Head from the end of the pier.

If you don’t want to splash the cash on a foreign holiday, I can recommend an enjoyable break in three delightful English holiday resorts – Eastbourne, Lyme Regis and Felixstowe.
There are a host of hotels overlooking the picturesque sea front in Eastbourne at affordable prices, offering excellent food and facilities, and there is the added attraction of the rebuilt pier following the fire that had threatened to destroy it.
Another big attraction is Beachy Head cliffs, with its distinctive landmark, the famous Belle Tout Lighthouse.
Lyme Regis and Felixstowe also have so much to offer with old world charm and picturesque views. And what better way to achieve complete escapism when relaxing in quant English seaside surroundings than to delve into a good book, especially if they are FREE!
Yes, you can make a further saving by taking advantage of the free five-day promotion currently being offered by My Voice Publishing for several of the e-versions of their successful authors via Amazon Books UK.
These include my own celebrity revelations in My Life With The Stars, including anecdotes about Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Joan Collins, The Beatles, George Best, Muhammad Ali and a host of others. This is currently in the top four in its Amazon category. And for children’s there’s my wife Heather Flood’s Mousey Mousey and the Witches’ Revenge, currently at No. 2 in its category, and Giant Sticker Monster and Other Children’s Stories.
If you want to know more about Eastbourne's famous landmark then Liz Wright's Belle Tout - the Little Lighthouse that Moved is the free book for you!
Other books available in this free promotion are Rex Sumner’s fantasy historical romance In Search of Spice, Francis Wait’s earth-threatening adventure The Survivalists and 16 intriguing short stories in Twists in the Tales by the Not Dead Yet Writers.
For those who want to know more about relationships Brigitte Sumner has the answers with Give Him Back His Balls.
You can download these literary gems while hopefully sitting back and enjoying the sun on the coast at East Sussex, Dorset or Suffolk.

Since the fire, the businesses have had alot to put up with, but all have responded well.
A good mix of the usual pier attractions, but rumours are out that the owners now want to sell

Was being repaired after a fire but was still open.Is well kept and has seating all down the sides which was nice as no trying to find somewhere to sit. Few shops and places to eat, not really much for older kids.

If you visit Eastbourne, you'd be letting yourself down if you don't visit the pier. The cream tea in the Victorian Lounge is simply divine.

There was a lot of new boardwalk work being undertaken which was looking really good. We were only there in the evening (8pm) but all the shops and eateries were shut. The nightclub at the end of the pier was almost full, with the bar next door completely empty. It seemed like a missed opportunity that strollers had nowhere to spend a few quid :-)

This was a visit after many years and we enjoyed the visit very much. There was a designated fishing area, good refreshment places, gift shop and clothing sales. There was a small smoking area but we did not see anyone using it. The view of both sea and the seafront were splendid and we were pleased to be able to buy good quality ice cream and candy floss at the entrance to the pier.

Very busy place to visit with a lovely fish and chip shop café place near the entrance to the pier. Plenty to do 'onboard' amusements and fishing. I went with my friends cousins family and we had afternoon tea in the café which was of a very good standard. A good meeting place but parking busy nearest the pier.

Pier is typical seaside pier, bit in need of love and affection. Is in process of being repaired. Looks nice from a distance in the sun.
