We paid £5 and watched airbourne from the top of the pier. Great views back at the coast and the craft fly right over head, we got some great pics.

in need of a major overhaul the new decking is amazing in the short time that they have had it
makes the rest of once a lovely venue for many other varied things look rather tired and worn out

What a good job they have done to keep the pier open since the fire. Pleasant lady in the trinket souvenir shop.

Fantastic Airshow (as always). Only dampened by the local authorities inability to plan for the visitor (and vehicle) numbers that descend upon the town.

Properly managed contra flows - temporary road closures and park and ride further from the town would improve things greatly.

All that said - it's a fantastic 'pull' for the town.

Its still a lovely pier to walk along, it is surprising the amount of work that has been done to get it back into use. There are Victorian Tearooms half way along and a Bar on the end.

Nice walk on a warm day

The beach was nice, quite and good. But was like any other beach. It was much better to roam in the Eastbourne market then on the pier which was very different from Brighton which we visited the same day.

Still under a rebuild but open for you to walk around and fish if you wish, with a hire company where you can get some tackle
Plenty of eating and drinking stalls, and of course good views of the Eastbourne front, and good position for photography.

half of the pier was blocked off due to renovation but however the Victoria tearoom is worth visiting for a lunch or cuppa and cake

On arrival walked out onto the pier and so glad it was not full of arcades and slot machines. We enjoyed a stroll and looked in the couple of little shops and enjoyed a Sussex Cream Tea in the Victorian Tearoom

If you're looking for cafes, bars, entertainment or shops, the shore is a much better place to start. If you like strolling on a pier, well it needs a bit of work, but it's not too long, it has lots of seats and quite a few places to shelter from the wind and the views of the beach from along it are just what you want from a British seaside. Take a stroll and enjoy.

This is still a lovely pier, despite the fire that destroyed the amusement arcade. Sadly there are no amusements on the pier now. However there is still the ladies clothes shop, gift shop and glass gift shop, which have been there for many years. There is also a cafe that sells afternoon teas, which we didn't try. The nightclub is still there at the end of the pier as well.

This is a traditional pier, that has a great amount classical style but is fun at the same time. I was very sad when Hastings pier burnt down. So when I went on Eastbourne pier I started using the shops. I have a collection of ceramic art work from the bibs and bobs shop. There is a tea shop, a pub and club, a glass shop, and fishing at the end of the pier. I hope they restore the amusement arcade soon.

I am not a big fan of piers, but do go there for the very good and inexpensive fish and chip takeaway at its entrance. You will also then become close acquaintances with largely well-behaved sea gulls as you eat them....

Beautiful pier with some street vendors. Prawns were nice but a bit expensive. It's a shame that the pier was burnt down six months after I visited there.

Few nice shops there was a glass shop you could watch the man making various ornaments but nothing for the kids to do past half hour on nice walk though up to end of the pier

We went on the pier for a drink in the bar one evening after a stroll along the seafront, at about 9.30pm, but when we got there the bar was shutting! Disappointing.

first came aged 11 to play the penny arcade - glad it has now found a buyer and also that despite the fire it is still worth a visit.

The repair work following last years fire is still underway but it is worth a visit all the same.
The views across the bay are beautiful and it can be quite bracing when the wind blows.
A good place to clear the cobwebs!

Pier was having work done so wasnt great to look at. The glass shop is a hidden gem. You can watch the people making the glass and its very reasonably priced.

This pier is specifically designed for the quiet outing. There aren't any games or rides, but there are plenty of shops and cafes. If you want some entertainment on the pier, there are also fishing opportunities on the rear end of the pier. The ice cream is nice and the atmosphere is calming.

However, if you are looking for flashy fun there is a nightclub situated on the pier at a cheap entry price of £2 on Wednesdays.

Despite the fire they had recently, the place is still thriving.

Recently been staying in Eastbourne and having seen the fire on Eastbourne pier last year when watching the news on tv, we were not sure what to expect. Work is in progress at present and once past the building work, there is a lovely Victoria tearoom which was very popular and had been recommended to us. There are the usual assortment of shops - gifts, clothes, handbags, rock, fudge, ice cream etc and we spent an enjoyable afternoon. Good views of Beachy Head from the end of the pier.
