Loved this Pier much more than the one in Brighton... You can just sit here, look at the sea and enjoy the views...

good amusement arcade for young and old and especially as weather is not good one can stay inside and not get wet, fish restaurant is also good and there is an amusement park with rides at end of pier for young and old

Since the recent fire that destroyed the ballroom, the pier has been in dire straits, even after they added sidewalks and opened the buildings seaward of the fire.

The flooring is replaced and the operators were hoping to have children' rides on it, but this was not allowed, so we will just have to wait until the ballroom is replaced to see it in full function again.

The current owners are considering selling the pier, so who knows what the future will bring? Still, for a walk in the bracing sea air, there's little to beat it!

Sadly part of the pier was burned down, however I am delighted to report that it is being repaired. there is access to almost all of the beautiful pier. The pier has been kept quite traditional with no brashy amusements. There is plenty of free seating which was a delight.

You have to pay a pound to walk along the pier! The toilets are disgusting. No mushy peas or cockles . Dogs on the beach

The Pier is undergoing a refurbishment and it is great to see the improvement. There are a few shops and hopefully work will finish soon

Somewhat shabby despite the fact that I'm led to believe it's recently been refurbished after a fire. Maybe that's still work in progress as there was still evidence of workmen. I visited during the day, and not much was open - seemed a bit of a shame

Great Pier, currently under-going re-furb works but still fully open, fishing available on the end of the pier.

Lovely place to go and sit and watch the world go bye. Holiday makers and locals are friendly and it is nice to hear people say good morning to each other and pass the time of day. We seem to have last this value as people pass each other in the street, without a greeting!. There are lots of rumours about what is going to happen to the pier, once rebuilt fully, but I certainly hope that there will be a few more shops and places to eat that cater for more than fish and chips.

The pier has the new works going on to repair the fire of 2014 and is really coming along with new board-walks installed on the first half..
Loved having Tea and scones and cake in the old Victorian tea room on the pier, although at over £20 quid for 2 adults and 3 kids was a little expensive but we enjoyed it!

We watched the airshow from it and got spectacular views of the aircraft and the Red arrows display team

Can't wait for the rest of the renovation work to be finished and see what else appears on the pier next time we visit in 2016

Free entry to a Victorian extravaganza. For those who enjoy a trip back in time this is a must. No expense has been spared to maintain one of England's most cherished seaside experiences

We visited the pier recently damaged by fire. Probably its best feature is the views which on a rainy day were still worth it. The shops etc. are tacky and it is a shame that the end of the pier is wasted on a night club. I hope they find the funds to restore this faded remnant which could be a fine pier.

The pier in Eastbourne is much quieter than Brighton's for example, which is nice. They were still rebuilding it after the fire last year, but we weren't bothered by it. Tea room on the pier is recommended if you like that sort of thing.

Totally fascinated by the pier, well preserved , easily accessible, good ,true representation of a historic Seaside pier without being overly sentimental or kitchy.

Always good to have a walk along this pier and it is having good repairs following the fire, and there are good views.

Maybe we picked not the right time to visit. There some works going on and most of the shops and restaurants were closed. Not much to do or see.

With the Pier in repair, it looked sorry for it self, I hope when the repairs are done the Pier will look at its best.

Undergoing restoration at the beginning, but still open to the public. Usual pleasant walk along a clean pier, with the obligatory slot machines and cafe. Fishing available at the end for a charge.

Whilst still undergoing repair many of the shops are open. Recommend the ice creams and there is plenty of seating all round the edges

Restoration was underway after the fire but as far as piers go it was worth a walk from top to bottom although it's true pleasure will not be appreciated until after restoration

Went on here for the first time since the fire that took out the first building. Repairs are under way and it should be hopeful finished by the end of the year. The pier offers lots to do for the whole family, ranging from ice cream to a fun fair at the back. If your down in Eastbourne then this is a "must see".

An old-school pier, in keeping with the rest of Eastbourne. Tea rooms, ice cream parlours and a genteel atmosphere. Lots of seats to enjoy the stiff sea breeze. Perfect for the blue-rinse brigade; if you want amusements, candy floss and rides, better to go to uncouth Brighton. Will look great when refurb is complete.

myself & my wife took a nice stroll along the pier, allthough there is ongoing work still being done due to the fire they had it,s still very pleasant, quaint little victorian shops selling rocks & souveniers, great view of beachy head to the right.when you get to the end there is a bar you can get a nice cold beer, good prices,& on your way back you can have fish & chips before you leave the pier,a nice little way of spending an hour or two.

Not a lot see except good views along the coastline. Unable to visit the Camera Obscura due to the steps being closed by the council.
