This is a shadow of its former self really after the fire but it is gratifying to see it recovering. There are nice places to sit, a couple of tearooms and fish and chip eateries and an entertainment arcade.

What a shame - a sorry looking pier with rusted buckling legs that are almost falling off, and some tatty amusement arcade games. It really does need a revamp.

One of the most charming piers in england.
I hope the main hall will be rebuilt back to its old self.

Stayed on beach front and enjoyed our walks along promenade and pier. Even had a flutter on arcades at the top of the pier and won lots of pennies....although the guy who worked there took it all back saying there was a fault with the sensors and gave me 4pence to compensate. Was pretty ridiculous and spoilt a fun little trip. Along the promenade there are little stalls and nearby Street has a row of independent little restaurants.

lovely to see the pier open during repair and restoration, traditional and not over exploited commercially, accessible to everyone.

Been renovated but all the seats collect water when it rains for want of a cloth or a few drain holes to be drilled. An ok (no more) example of a UK pier.

Brings back memories of the past same kind of pier as all the others

A pleasant walk on the pier.

Some of the cafe's did not open 11.00am.

Small number of the usual pier entertainment - pleasure rides and slot machines

Very clean with plenty of seating areas to enjoy the views. Great platform over the sea at the very end to watch the seagulls.

Eastbourne is very Victorian, Regency style & the pier reflects that.
It was damaged in a fire & you can see the effort & work that's gone into restoring it.
The Chippy as you enter the pier have the best chips Ive had in years - double cooked as they should be.
You can't do Eastbourne without a visit to the pier

A little bear since the refurb after the fire
Got a shock when I reached the end of the pier the fishing
Area with the tackle shop and rod hire had gone and been replaced with outdoor pub tables ruined the character and tradition
Glad to see whet remains on the pier has been refurbished
3 new union jacks needed on the front threadbear

Offers a great view but watch out when windy. Not much to do or see on there unless you lived circa 1900.

Nice that Eastbourne still has a pier, what is a seaside resort without a pier.
However, apart form views out to sea and inland, this like many others has become a little jaded.
2 small amusement arcades and a couple of small shops?
The best is the tearoom centrally located on the pier with it's very dramatic chandeliers.
Perhaps a must in terms of taking in the view(s) but a little disappointing in some ways.

Pier was opposite my hotel so obliged to walk along it, which wasn't too windy and had plenty of seating. Nothing much to interest me except for the lovely Victorian Tea Room (review elsewhere). Usual little souvenir shops,

It's a nice enough pier, it's in work in progress stage but it's still a pleasent work upto the point. If your in Eastbourne then it's worth a walk upto it. My only concern is the sections around the pier where there seems to be a gathering of drunks, although they don't seem to cause problems it's not a nice sight and could be off putting for future visitors.

This beautiful Pier is getting a facelift , so time will improve it's looks. However one can enjoy the structure and look back at the shaw line / buildings .
