After he rebuild from fire damage the pier is still a lovely place to go and see in Eastbourne. It has a nice room with some quaint shops. Just need more for the kids.

Good shops, tea rooms, can buy/drink from pubs on pier - good picnic tables to sit and enjoy views east/west of pier.

This is a great pier and improved since the fire as it has a large open seating area. There are a few small shops and arcades etc, but not tacky. The fish &chips at the start are one of the only places I eat them from. So pleased to see it back as I feared it would go the way of most damaged piers.

Once this pier is completely finished it will be better I am sure - love the Tearooms but did not like the fact there are signs telling people you cannot eat your own food on the pier - limiting for families and discouraging.

Worth a visit.The surprise waiting at the end of the Pier is a night club - takes first time visitors by surprise. Great place to sunbathe.

We visited Eastbourne Pier and decided to stop at the Victorian Tea Rooms. On arrival it was very busy, most tables were already allocated and there were 3/4 tables which were free.... BUT they all seemed to have dirty dishes piled on them! When I asked for a table for 3, the server just said go and sit on any of those tables and I will clear it. I mean, not pleasant sitting at a table for over 5 minutes with someone else's used dishes stacked on it! Im not sure if they were understaffed, but there was only 2 ladies going around taking orders, slowly cleaning tables etc.
Anyway, when she did eventually come, the server cleaned the table, sprayed the glass clean and took out order. She then came back shortly after with our order and was nice. (Cream tea's, coffee and Victoria sponge) - Although both scones came with odd amounts of clotted cream and jam (one came with an over sized amount of clotted cream and with the tiniest amount of jam). The Victoria sponge was lovely.
I'd perhaps like to revisit at some point to see whether our 1st visit was an 'off day', and perhaps at a not so busy time... Because prior to my visit, quite a few people had recommended this place to me.

We were pleasantly surprised to see how nice the pier looked and enjoyed a day there with our grandson. He had a great time on the 2p machines and we had a lovely cup of coffee in the Victorian Café with its chandeliers and lights. I was a little bit disappointed that the staff all looked rather miserable. Please cheer up and make the tearoom a happy place. It's so nice to see somebody wanting to make it somewhere to enjoy for the people of Eastbourne. Thank you to the Sheik.

It's one of the symbol in Eastbourne. It was on fire recently but it was nicely recovered. The view from the Pier is really beautiful especially when it is a lovely weather!! There is a tea room and some souvenir shops on the Pier.

Good to see this pier re-built after a disastrous fire. And in our opinion restored to a very high standard, with more facilities than before. We even liked the gold domes and lions! Nothing like a pier for a traditional English sea-side stroll!

I've read a few negative things about the restoration of the pier via the Sheik since the fire - not nice.
I say ' Thank You ' for restoring the pier, keeping it free, giving the pier some bling !

I love strolling along, watching the seagulls , having tea and cake and watching the world go by.
It's not the same as before granted.
But someone has come along and made an effort, didn't see anyone else putting their hand in their pocket or bothering.

This is a shadow of its former self really after the fire but it is gratifying to see it recovering. There are nice places to sit, a couple of tearooms and fish and chip eateries and an entertainment arcade.

What a shame - a sorry looking pier with rusted buckling legs that are almost falling off, and some tatty amusement arcade games. It really does need a revamp.

we sent the day on the pier very nice bars and ice cream parlors we had alovely walk licking our ice creams

Stayed on beach front and enjoyed our walks along promenade and pier. Even had a flutter on arcades at the top of the pier and won lots of pennies....although the guy who worked there took it all back saying there was a fault with the sensors and gave me 4pence to compensate. Was pretty ridiculous and spoilt a fun little trip. Along the promenade there are little stalls and nearby Street has a row of independent little restaurants.

Been renovated but all the seats collect water when it rains for want of a cloth or a few drain holes to be drilled. An ok (no more) example of a UK pier.

Very clean with plenty of seating areas to enjoy the views. Great platform over the sea at the very end to watch the seagulls.
