The penguin encounter experience involves spending some time with the keepers behind the scenes of the Penguin enclosure, then feeding the penguins some fish. We booked this for our 10 year old and 8 year old, it lasted about 40 minutes. The staff were very knowledgeable and made it very interesting for kids to really understand the work involved in taking care of penguins.
There was a lot of information shared, but also the opportunity to ask questions and to take photos. Highly recommended!
Kids really loved it!

I love this animal Park. It's not huge so the kids don't get bored and there's a great play area at the end. It's good to see that the rides are included in the price. The restaurant is good and the prices are reasonable. Would definitely recommend Drusillas Park.

We visited Drusillas for the first time with our family (4year old and 15month old) and had an absolutely brilliant day. The zoo is full all types of different animals that you don't alway see at other zoo and you can get very close to them. There are excellent interactive activities for all ages through out the park, we really enjoyed taking part in the Zoolympics. My 4 year old was in heaven with the rides in Hello Kitty land and my 15month old loved the train ride round the park. We will be coming back and absolutely perfect and fun day had by all of us.

Really good zoo, with 'zoolympics' activities for the kids to do as they're going round as well as collecting stamps. Additional rides and attractions are also great for young children, so absolutely loads to do and a great day out.

Took the family for Drusillas for a birthday treat (35 now πŸ˜”) with my 11 month old son. Ive been here a few times when i was young but first time with my family.
To be honest I think he is still a bit too young to enjoy zoos but we all had a good time.
I was a bit chilly Monday when we went and most the animals were tucked up in bed asleep but the monkeys πŸ’ were full of energy. We got to watch a monkey poo in his hand and eat it which was funny. Hope my son doesn’t copy him 🀣.
We did the game where you spot the animal and stamp the book πŸ“– which was fun.
I think my son enjoyed the soft play area the most. The soft play area looks great for kids just wish i was 25 years younger so i can have a go.
We had a meal in the restaurant which was ok but over priced
I have a couple of nags though. The train ride is not worth the wait only goes every half hour and lasts 3 minutes which i think is a bit crap. I know its getting near the end of season BUT if you are going to open the zoo and charge full money enter you should have all the stalls cafes and rides open too. If not then charge half price.
Anyway was a good day out

My 8 year old daughter was lucky enough to be a zoo keeper for the day with Julie.
From the very beginning to the end of the day she had an absolute blast. Her day began with preparing the animals food. My husband accompanied her for the morning. She fed and cleaned out meerkats, porcupines, beavers, bats, sloths, capybaras and the morning highlight being penguin feeding. My son and I were given the itinerary so we were able to wander around and watch my daughter from the spectator areas taking part. The whole day was so well organised and we were pleasantly surprised at how much she was able to fit in but it was not rushed at all. We then met up for lunch. lunch was included for my daughter -her choice from the main cafe menu. Plenty of choice for all both hot and cold and all looked lovely. We had all taken packed lunch and we sat with her in the cafe. I then accompanied my daughter for the afternoon session and we started with feeding the pig, moved onto the reptiles in a special exhibition that was there for Halloween. Then came the snakes, owls, chinchillas, armadillos, dragons, lorelkeets, raccoons and ring tailed lemurs which was the highlight for me as they are so cheeky and brazen! All in all a great day and something different from having a party for her birthday. Worth the money and some great memories to take away with us.
Julie was brilliant and pitched it just right for my daughters age.
Any age would love it. Would highly recommend.

I was unsure how much my 9 month old would get out of the trip at such a young age but she absolutely loved it.

She was able to go on all of the rides - so sweet seeing her little face enjoying the hello kitty spinning cups and car ride in particular! It was also nice that she could get close enough to to actually see the animals and she very much enjoyed pointing them out.

As for mum and dad, the coffee kiosk (selling Starbucks) was a welcome surprise for us shortly after arrival - flat white hit, tick - and we appreciated the healthy options available in the explorers cafe.

Although its not an overbearingly large place like some attractions (which i wouldn't even consider taking a baby too as they're stressful enough as it is) - there was still a load more to see and do than we managed to cover in the one day, so we very much look forward to returning again!

Thanks Drusillas!

Visited at October half term and was impressed. Very hands on, easy to navigate. Kids of all ages having great time. Our grandsons 5 and 7 loved the ring tailed lemurs, the train, all the small monkeys and the adventure playground. We took our own picnic but there were plenty of places to eat. One of our boys on autistic spectrum, hence the picnic. Found a quiet spot!

A wonderful selection of animals in good quality and well designed enclosures. So much to do for kids - take a picnic and you are sorted. Could spend at least half a day there and would recommend.

The park has lots if attractions for different ages. Object to paying Β£5 for one child gold panning. Would not visit again as the taxi to and from the park cost Β£25 return which makes it a costly day out. With the profits made it wouldn't hurt the park to lay on a courtesy bus at a nominal charge. Obviously have enough people visiting the park not to need the custom of non drivers.
