A great venue; fab staff, amazing views and always a warm welcome. The staff at the Cumberland have - for a long time - been amazing supporters of Chestnut Tree House children's hospice, putting on regular fundraising events as well as promoting awareness of the respite care offered to families by the charity. Thanks!!
Excellent breakfast this morning at the Durrant Eatery in the Cumberland Hotel. I opted for haddock with spinach and poached egg but everyone's breakfast looked amazing too! Plus being coastal born I'm a true sea lover and you cannot beat that view from the eatery! Excellent food, welcomed and cared for by lovely staff, great company with a good dollop of creative thinking. A top start to the day!
We use the Cumberland twice a year for our dance club weekends taking around 70 people each time and I can honestly say it’s the best venue by far. The staff are lovely and can’t do enough for you and the food is great. So near to everything too. We love it and so do our dancers. X

A BIG thank you to the team at the Cumberland Hotel for their help to
make my event #AskTheExpert a success. I stayed the night so I could get set up to make things easier for me little did I know just how amazing the view was from the hotel rooms. My room was comfortable and everything I could have needed for a good nights sleep.
Have just attended Sally-Ann & David's wedding and can honestly state that the entire day was really super, all the staff were very helpful, and the food was excellent and plentiful,

Once again the Cumberland Hotel staff have go out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed to make sure the #EBtweetup went off without a hitch. Last night we used their projector and screen. I have always avoided using this technology at our events as the speaker slots are normally rather shot but with the topic being LinkedIn we needed some extra live examples. I am pleased to say from plugging in to having power available all went without hitch. A pleasure to host events at the hotel.
Just had my 3rd Afternoon Tea here. Today was a treat for my Mum who had a birthday last week so invited my Aunt and Uncle to join us for a Sussex Cream Tea. It might be the smaller of the options but certainly tasty and we all felt pleasantly "full" but won't ruin dinner. Even being slightly overcast today the sun lounge was warm and everyone was comfortable.
This hotel offers great customer service. I have enjoyed many a business event, meeting and most recently a very delicious cream tea.
Highly recommend to others for events - and the cream tea :) .

I have had a cream tea at the Cumberland Hotel before and I really enjoyed it. When the chance came up again to treat a client of mine I opted for the “celebration” afternoon tea. It is really good value for money and I still feel full a good couple of hours later. The prosecco and strawberries really add to the occasion and the sun lounge is perfect with stunning views of the sea front. I faced Eastbourne Pier and it was just a brilliant and relaxing afternoon “relaxed meeting”
The Cumberland Hotel is a very pleasant venue, with polite and friendly staff, highly recommended!

Tonight was our 3rd #EBtweetup at the Cumberland Hotel. There has been a little feedback after each event of “what would be nice if” and I have to say they staff have really gone all out to make us feel at home and accommodate our requests. I have held many coffee meetings in the lounge and been impressed at how quickly the staff have remembered me by name! Thanks for being a great venue and all you do to support our events.
Went to the Cumberland for a meeting this afternoon, and wanted to leave a review as the staff were very attentive. Great customer service.

The team at the Cumberland Hotel have really impressed me. From my initial enquiry to use their venue for the #EBtweetup to the ongoing communication for the events. I have also had a number of coffee meetings here and again the staff have all been really friendly and helpful. The icing on the cake so far has to be the afternoon tea. I was able to catch up with a member of thebestof for a couple of hours in a very relaxed atmosphere to discuss a few things but mainly being social. I hope to make the a regular event as the scones, cakes and sandwiches were lovely.

On recently visiting the Cumberland Hotel, we found the staff lovely and the room the EBtweetup was held in lovely and spacious, we shall hopefully be returning to try their afternoon Tea, which sounds lovely
It was nice to visit the Cumberland Hotel recently for EB Tweetup. We must return to try the afternoon tea.

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel for the Airshow. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to change our booking twice in two separate occasions. Our requests were dealt with without a problem and duly confirmed by prompt e mails. Reception staff were polite ,professional and very friendly .Our room on the first floor had a seaview with a shared balcony that was perfect for viewing the Airshow .Breakfast was good with an excellent choice of food. Once again very friendly and efficient staff made for an enjoyable meal .As this is an old hotel you will probably experience very creaky floorboards which can be irritating at night, but this was minor blip. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.
Reply from Cumberland Hotel Eastbourne: Thank you for a lovely revue Graeme C, we're delighted you enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
I visit Eastbourne every week or two and have tried most of the hotels along the sea front. About two months ago I tried the Cumberland as my usual hotel was full and I have only ever stayed there since. The hotel is always spotlessly clean and has a very happy atmosphere. The Receptionists are always welcoming and go the extra mile to help guests. It's also in a great location, if you are lucky enough to get a sea view room you are overlooking the Bandstand where there are great concerts at weekends!
Embrace East Sussex used the Cumberland Hotel ball room for our annual charity ball. They allowed us to use the ball room for free only charging us for the food which was so kind. The fact it was free seemed to make no impact on the service we were provided which was second to none. They were friendly, professional, hard working and accessible. We booked our ball there the following year immediately and can't wait to work with them again.

The Cumberland Hotel is my favourite hotel in Eastbourne. As a resident of Eastbourne for quite a few years I have visited many hotels but this one stands out for it's welcome. Have been to a few events here and have coffee regularly too and I just love it. The staff are superb. Hope the Cumberland never changes!
Really lovely people who work here. Great service! I have been to a wedding reception here and they couldn't do enough for you. We also enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at the hotel in Eastbourne. We are going back next Friday!
