We visited this restaurant which was very busy for a Monday night. The food was good, however the service was abysmal. The starters arrived fairly quickly when we ordered. However we were abandoned with empty plates and glasses for over an hour and a half.
Attempts to attract the waiting staff's attention were unsuccessful. Had to leave the table to speak to the manager regarding our main course and in less than two minutes the mains arrived so clearly they had been sitting in the kitchen waiting to be delivered to our table, an hour and 40 minutes later! Appreciate the kitchen was very busy but there is clearly poor communication between the those preparing the food and the waiting staff for the main courses to have been delayed for so long. It was the first time we've been able to see our friends in two years and the poor service blighted our evening.

Just came here for drinks, but the setting is really nice both inside and outside. Coffee (espresso) was good (not excellent though) and the Aperol spritz were of course good. Service was fine and they were pretty friendly. Would definitely recommend if you're in Eastbourne.

Best place ever!! Really lovely staff, amazing views overlooking the sea, food was so delicious at a very good price! Quick service! Although it looked fully booked, they still managed to find us a seat! Very accommodating, 100% recommended!

Service is hit and miss and you can find yourselves forgotten. Food is generally good without being outstanding. It's OK but they could do better for the price.

Great steaks and deserts to die for. The seafront location is beautiful. Our waiter, Oliver, was attentive without being overwhelming. Highly recommended.

Lovely spacious airy place. We had our lunch here and had a table inside with a sea view. The staff were very friendly and accomodating.
Was impressed with the menu (I am a fussy eater). I had Salmon Nicoise and the portion size was good, my daughter had the special, Beef Medalians which were very tasty but we perhaps should have ordered extra sides as her portion was a little small.
We both had Citron Tart which was delicious.
The ambience was good, and I am looking forward to a return visit.

A good choice on Eastbourne's Seafront

One you have to book in for quite a few weeks beforehand. Service was excellent with frequent checks by the waiters and where there were issues, they were very promptly dealt with.

The starters and mains are amazing quality. The steak was cooked perfectly to my choosing and is definitely one of the best I've had this year. Pudding was a little bit of a let down but considering all the positives above, it was not enough to let me down completely

Hats off the the cheffs and our waitress Emily, you've done a great job

We went last night as a family of four, the staff were friendly, the food was delicious, we had the squid and croquettes to start, the chicken forester and the half a chicken. The kids menu was decent sized portions, they had a burger and fish coupons. There were nice cocktails and of course that beautiful view. I would reccomend this place and will return when next in Eastbourne.

We have been here twice now. Once for an afternoon tea and last week for a meal before the theatre. Very central with great views of the sea front. Food beautifully cooked and staff very helpful. Ollie who served us last weekend was a joy and not just our table his rapport with every table he dealt with was obvious. Great asset.

Chilled beer, lovely glass of kir royale. Nice views from the balcony. Sadly toilets were not up to standard, untidy and not clean.

Fantastic meal, great wine and good service. Very windy outside (we were warned, and didn't mind) but glorious sunshine too. Brilliant views.

Pretty nice food with a great view. Staff are mixed.

Staff waiting tables are nice, chatty and helpful from my visits there. However staff interfacing with arriving guests desperately need training. Restaurants cannot always accommodate guests without reservations, which is par for course and obviously fine. However the staff there are clueless on how to go about communicating this with any common respect. Dismissive and rude is what I experienced on several occasions. It does leave you scratching your head when you approach with manners and are fronted with such a response in the hospitality sector.

If reputation risk is of material concern, the restaurant would be wise to heed this advice, such that new or returning customers (like I was) are not left with a poor impression of what is otherwise a nice restaurant.

Too many bad experiences for me to justify returning.

I went here for cocktails and tapas at the weekend, early evening. They had run out of straws for the cocktails, which makes a mojito quite hard to drink in a tall glass topped with ice. I just found it strange that someone wouldn't pop down to Tesco Express and buy some for the evening, or ask a nearby establishment to borrow. The waiter who served us was lovely, but not very attentive, and neither were other staff. The bread upsold to us was forgotten, and to get the bill afterwards I had to walk over to the till in the end and ask. The setting is nice and the food we had was good, but the service standards were much lower than expected.
