I can’t recommend Mortain Place Care Home highly enough. The staff are always so kind, caring, compassionate and always willing to go the extra mile to make the residents feel safe and comfortable, especially how they treat my dear friend. Such a warm, welcoming atmosphere and it’s clear that everyone genuinely cares about the wellbeing and happiness of the people who live there. The care provided is exceptional, with dignity, respect and kindness at the heart of everything they do.

My 98 mother-in-law moved into Mortain Place in March and was immediately made to feel welcome and at home. The staff are very supportive, kind and friendly and have made her feel part of the Mortain Place family. The facilities and standard of accommodation is high and has the feel of a 4* hotel rather than a care home.

I have stayed at this wonderful home twice now, for 6 weeks respite each time. The staff are all wonderful and really got to know me, in fact they saved me. I was feeling very weak, and it was the rehab I needed to get back on my feet after a nasty bout of flu. They all listened to my ambition to get the book ‘For the Love of Sarah’ I’ve been writing for 40 years published - and when I did it, they invited me back to launch it with my family and friends. It was a wonderful time and I know il be back again when I need a bit of respite, without hesitation.

Unfortunately my Partners Aunt had her funeral today. She lived at Mortain Place for nearly 4 years and loved every minute of it. She called it her home and the staff her extended family. Her trust was justified and such a relief for us to know she was in a safe place, where she felt at home. She had periods during her care, where she had to go into Hospital, but as soon as she was back, the care she received bought her back from the brink on every occasion and she thrived. I cannot explain the warmth of all the staff towards her and how happy she was. I can only recommend Mortain Place as a warm, caring place and our gratitude towards the entire team knows no bounds.

A Review after 15 Months. I visit my Mother at least 3 times a week and I can honestly say, if you have a loved one, this is the place to go. It is all about the people and they are truly amazing, caring, patient and professionial, genuinely nice people. And it rubs off on the residents, everyone is calm friendly and relaxed. It comes from the senior management and spreads right through Mortain Place. Every time I leave, I give a quiet prayer of thanks my Mother is there. Well done to everyone who works there.

Three weeks respite care in December, following a month in February. Very comfortable, reasuringly safe and with excellent staff. Initial fears about needing residential care were completely dispelled by the first visit so the second stay was undetaken without any trepidation. There was little change of staff and my wife was welcomed back as an old friend. Huge efforts were made by everyone to make Christmas an exciting and stimulating time. Neither of us have any concerns should permanent residence become desirable.

My Mum has been there for a year now, in Memory Lane and has been settled and happy right from the start. This was a really tough and difficult decision for us but as Mums dementia was progressing rapidly, we unfortunately knew it was needed. Mortain stood out straight away and it made such a difference to know she was safe and well looked after there. Staff go above and beyond, they really do care for the residents and it feels like family. They have also been a great support to us navigating this journey as well as to my Mum. They have great activities, (especially now at Christmas time we’re there is even more going on!) which help engage and stimulate and is open to all the dementia residents as well as others with everyone mixing together which is so important. There is always a lovely atmosphere there and it means more than I can express that my Mum is happy, safe and enjoying her time at Mortain.

Mortain Place provided 2 week respite care for my mother immediately post an operation. The team were excellent and gave her the care and support she needed to aid her recovery. I'm very happy to recommend Mortain Place

Quality care home, very attentive, thoughtful staff. Excellent choice of menu offerings and superb dining experience. A friend is a resident and they are very complimentary of the dignity and courtesy afforded by all staff. A care home which is very welcoming and provides real warmth to friends and family who visit. Highly recommended.

What a lovely care home, visited this weekend to see a neighbour who is with Mortain on respite. Was offered a cuppa tea and biscuits. Great cuppa!!

At Mortain Place the residents have a very comfortable home away from home. We try to make them feel loved and cared for. They have plenty of opportunities to go out and enjoy life as best as possible. The food is top quality, with a great hairdresser who is in most days of the week. A chiropodist comes in every 6 weeks and our entertainers are fantastic. They are spoilt on their birthdays and Christmas meals are exceptional.

My Mum has been in Mortain Place for some respite care for the last 3 weeks. Mum was always incredibly reluctant to go into any type of care home or have any care at home. After a nasty fall we finally persuaded her to go in. I went to look at Mortain Place and was warmly greeted by Rob. He immediately put me at ease and showed me around. Mortain Place is absolutely beautiful, such calming colours everywhere with beautiful soft furnishings. The cleanliness is perfection. Every single person we have come across and have looked after Mum are amazing. It’s quite clear they are all very happy in their work. They care and compassion they show their residents is clear to see. Mum has enjoyed every moment and is very keen to return as a permanent resident. A huge thank you to everyone at Mortain for looking after Mum, and us, so well.

Went to have a look around Mortain Place and was greeted with a smile and the offer of a cup of tea, there were alot of smily faces on residents as they had just finished an activity.
