My partner brought me here last night to celebrate my 30th birthday. What an incredible evening it was!!! Just walking into the restaurant, I felt as though I'd been transported straight to Italy, with all the gorgeous colours and friendly atmosphere.
The waiters and waitresses were second to none. Their attentiveness made me feel like the most special person in the world at that very second and they were very kind in allowing me to practise my fading language skills.
The drinks arrived and they were incredible - just peach juice and a beer, but it looked like a cocktail and the most suave beer available! I personally hate beer, bit even I enjoyed a sip of the Italian craft beer as it had such delicious tones to it.
We had olives to start, and then steak and seafood pasta for our mains. We hardly had to wait any time at all and the taste, along with the presentation was exquisite. Everything is so fresh and kudos to the incredible chef and his wonderful daughter who explained about the way steak can be eaten out in the Mother Land.
I couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening. I look forward to heading there again in the future and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone!

We loved our lunch al fresco at Anema e Core. The pizzas were simply amazing, made with fresh ingredients and full of flavours. I'd recommend it, especially the one with buffalo mozzarella. There was a good choice of food and the staff was very friendly. It's a big restaurant with many tables inside and two patios to eat outside. We paid a reasonable price and we're happy with the experience. We'll definitely come back next time we visit Eastbourne.

I had already checked on Trip Advisor to find a good Italian restaurant when we came to Eastbourne and we were not disappointed in Anema e core. The restaurant is owned and run by an Italian family who clearly love cooking and take great pride in their restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very attentive. The food was wonderful with a good selection to suit all. I wish this restaurant was here where we lived.

Went here on a recommendation and was not disappointed - a lovely family-run restaurant serving excellent Italian bistro and Neapolitan food. Portions generous and food cooked with heart and soul. Was made to feel so welcome, we came back again within the week. Highly recommended!

My wife and myself visited Eastbourne the first week of June 2017. We ate at this restaurant twice, the food was delicious, probably the best Italian restaurant we've eaten in. The staff were attentive and service could not have been better. We would recommend this ristorante Italiano, very highly.(if you like pizza hut you probably won't like this place.

I have eaten at Anema probably 10-15 times now, on and off throughout a project I was heading up with my work and with my wife. The location and exterior of the building gives no hint at what lies down the stairs, a charming Italian restaurant that I will go back to again and again.
The staff are lovely, Lea especially is great company and always makes me and my colleagues feel very welcome. The food has always been good, from home made pesto which is to die for, to traditional gnocchi and superb pizza made in an oven set in the restaurant itself. I love the fact that Anema does not try to be more than it is - serving food from the one Italian region only and not succumbing to the normal error of trying to be too generic-Italian to cover all British tastes. This allows the restaurant to deliver cracking Italian food, it is not to be missed.

Fantastic night all round, lovely greeting, we were showed to out beautifully laid table which had balloons & decorations.
Excellent birthday cake & music surprise!!Food was very good & wine was delicious
We all had a good selection of food which included meat & vegetarian dishes. The family run business has been there for between 1-2 years. We would definitely return to this restaurant as we felt we were in their home and we all felt so looked after.
Most of us have traveled 200 miles so very impressive, Thank you so much, hope to visit again very soon the Hoile & Metcalfe family's

Great pizza with friendly staff.
Good range of cocktails.

The only reason for not giving a 5/5 rating is the exterior needs a bit of work to make it slightly more appealing. Such a shame as everything else was lovely.

Visited whilst on holiday with my mother, having previously eaten at their other restaurant in Seaside Road. Food still as good, with attentive service. I had a delicious pizza and my mum had a chicken dish followed by tiramisu. Good value.

Had a great meal here with my mum. Good food and attentive service. At the end of the meal, we were given a complimentary limoncello and some sugared almonds as it was the restaurant's anniversary!

After finally getting around to visiting Amema e Core after its move from Seaside Road. I booked a table for my partners birthday which I mentioned when making the reservation. When we arrived I was surprised how large and airy the restaurant was but how it managed to retained its charm and character. When we were escorted to our our table to our surprise there was a birthday card on it along with a helium balloon! What a lovely personal touch!! They even sung 'Happy Birthday' when desert was brought out. Nothing was too much trouble. The customer service here was outstanding and the food delicious and authentic. A truly wonderful family run business. I can't recommend highly enough. This will definitely be our 'go to restaurant'.

The beautiful setting of Anema e Core made it an easy choice as to where I was going to be lunching with a friend. The family run Italian does the best authentic Italian food in Eastbourne, there's no cutting corners and everything is made to order. The food was the most delicious, I would recommend the pizza as its south Neapolitan style, the proper way! They cater for Gluten free and Vegetarian which is so important to me as I am both. The host Leah and her staff are so wonderful, always smiling and cannot do enough for their customers. A real treat on a Thursday afternoon

Whilst on business in a Wednesday evening in Eastbourne, I decided to try this restaurant based on the review profile found on TripAdvisor. A brisk walk brought me to an imposing building with steps down to the basement restaurant and at first glance, it looked to be darkened and closed. Obviously this is a common misconception as there is a hand written notice in the window station "Yes, we are open."
On entering, I was welcomed warmly but told that as a "walk in" we would have to find the boss to ask whether or not I would be permitted to dine - despite a large number of empty tables!!!!! Thankfully, my scruffy Barbour didn't count against me and I was escorted to a table at the rear of the restaurant.
After a perusal of the menu, I swiftly decided on a Peroni and a Pizza as a leaflet was included with the menu where much was made of the special Italian flour hand used for the pizza dough which may have been ground at great expense by Vestal Virgins and imported at great effort. This pizza should be a tour de force on the basis of both the flour and price thought I and sat back with anticipation for my seafood pizza to be prepared.
When it came, the base was very nice indeed, authentic, thin, crisp yet doughy too, and I was looking forward to the topping of mussels, prawns and squid nestling in a pommodoro and mozzarella mixture. It was nice to see that the mozzarella wasn't a substitute but the real thing but the seafood bits had come from the freezer and interestingly the promised prawns - plural - was limited to a single shell on non-deveined specimen.
In summary, friendly staff and an adequate pizza suffering from topping portion control so I would visit again if in the area.
