From the very beginning, the whole team were absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so friendly, attentive and helpful throughout the planning process, making everything feel so easy and stress-free. On the day itself, everything ran seamlessly, allowing us to completely relax and enjoy every moment knowing we were in such good hands.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning, the food was incredible, and the attention to detail was amazing. We had so many lovely comments from our guests about how beautiful everything was and how fantastic the whole experience had been.

Alfriston Gardens was honestly the perfect venue for my Create & Capture™ day.
The space is absolutely beautiful, with so many gorgeous areas to create content, but what really stood out for me was how helpful and welcoming the team were from start to finish.
Nothing felt like too much trouble and having such supportive staff made such a difference when organising a full day with models, artists and suppliers.

After getting married at Alfriston Gardens last weekend, all I can say is WOW! What a venue! With various accommodation on site to choose from, I stayed in Lavender Lodge & it was stunning! The perfect space for Bridal & Grooms parties to get ready for the big day! The Barns are high spec but still kept beautifully rustic. So spacious & with multiple areas to roam it never felt overcrowded! The gardens are stunning, so full of colour & a wonderful space created for any event! The staff members went above and beyond at all times! Nothing was too much hassle. The food was out of this world! Philly cheese steak hotdog? I’ll take 10 please!
It truly is the most beautiful hidden gem in Alfriston! Bonus points for the stunning views of the South Downs! Would highly recommend!!

My new husband and I got married at Alfriston Gardens on 19.09.26.
We can honestly say it was the best day of our lives and we are still in awe of how perfect everything was from start to finish.
The venue is absolutely stunning, especially so when we added our own personal touches and personalities to make it feel like us.
So many of our friends and family said it was completely magical and full of love.
The staff were absolutely fantastic and took care of us all day, they completely took the stress out of the event and ensured everything ran smoothly for us.
Our wedding breakfast was unbelievable and so beautifully presented by the black pepper team.
We wouldn’t change a thing, only that we woken we could do it all again!

We recently had our wedding at Alfriston Gardens, it was 2 years in the planning. What can we say? The day was seamless, and we genuinely felt like VIPs, as if we were the only booking they had.
Dean Harding from black pepper hospitality and his team of caterers were absolitelt incredible, the food was stunning and the wine went down a storm. I have had feedback that everyone expected the wine included in the drinks package to be a little ropy, but no, we have all now gone and purchased the same wine since as it was so good. India and Nell ensured the details were all nailed in the office leading up to the day (thank you), those that were there on the day, sorting our veils and dresses amongst many other things, who knew their role would be so varied? 🙈

We had our wedding on a Thursday and this meant we felt like the venue was just for us, we were not rushed out the door, we had a big family breakfast the morning after, which was such a special addition to our day. We also were able to stay the night before. Some venues we viewed felt like a conveyabelt, we genuinely felt like VIPs here.
Our friends are all saying it's the best wedding they have been to in a long time. Thank you 😊

My wife and I celebrated significant birthdays and our anniversary yesterday at Alfriston Gardens with our children, their spouses and all of our grandchildren. There were 18 of us, 10 of whom were adults. We had a meal with a party after, stayed overnight in the accommodation provided, with breakfast the following morning. Everyone said how much they enjoyed the venue.
Of particular note was the staff. They were industrious, helpful, there when you wanted them and not when not. They were pleasant to talk with. A treat.
There was no stinting when it came to food, the three-course dinner being more than ample for most of us, and some of my offspring have healthy appetites. It was tasty, hot, served promptly and when someone changed their booked meal (an error on our behalf) and it was replaced without fuss. I had the fish pie and it was tasty, slightly unusually cooked, and ample. A good choice. Everyone enjoyed what they had picked.
The party room we booked, Oak Lodge, was more than big enough for our group, and what was especially useful was the extensive grounds where the kids could run and play to their heart’s content, and their bodies’ exhaustion, whichever came first.
The accommodation was clean, well prepared, and very pleasant. My wife and I had the bridal suite, and the families, smaller rooms, including the Shepherd’s Huts for a family of four. Our room was delightful, the bed comfortable. No one had a bad word to say about their accommodation. Breakfast was from 8.30 to 10, and again, as much as we wanted. There was traditional English or continental. For some of my family, both. There was no stinting throughout the two days.
The only criticism from anyone in our group was regards the chairs, which were slippery.
The venue is easy to get to on the A27. There's ample parking, with a reserved area.
I hardly ever give five-star reviews but Alfriston Gardens gets them all the way. The staff worked hard for it. Special thanks to Claire for her help throughout the weekend.
It was a lovely weekend, made all the more special.

Janie, Nell and India are a lovely team. They were super friendly and helpful throughout the entire process and made sure everything ran smoothly on the day.
The venue is beautiful inside and out. We chose an indoor ceremony in the lovely barn and made the most of the gardens during the reception and drinks sections of the day.
The ceremony barn is bright and airy, and the reception barn has ceiling windows, and patio doors at one end, bringing in lots of light.
The guest rooms are stunning - modern and charming. The honeymoon lodge is huge and easily accommodated 5 bridesmaids, 2 mothers, 1 MUA and 2 hair stylists for the morning.
The location is fantastic. We took advantage of the rolling hills for a golden hour photoshoot nearby.
AG works exclusively with Black Pepper catering. Being tied to a specific caterer meant one less decision for us to make, but we would happily choose Dean and the BP team again anyway. The food was phenomenal and so many of our guests told us they thought so too.

We got married at Alfriston Gardens on Saturday 20th June 2026, and honestly, we cannot imagine a more perfect place to get married.
From the moment we first viewed the venue to the day itself, everything was exceptional. The setting is absolutely stunning, but what truly makes Alfriston Gardens special is the incredible team behind it. Janie, Nell and India went above and beyond at every stage, making us feel supported, calm and genuinely cared for throughout the entire process. Nothing was too much trouble, and their attention to detail ensured the day ran seamlessly.
The food deserves a special mention. Dean Harding and the team at Black Pepper Hospitality absolutely blew us away. The quality of the food was outstanding, and the compliments from our guests were never-ending. Days later, people are still talking about how incredible every course was. We genuinely lost count of the number of guests who told us it was the best wedding food they had ever had.
In fact, the feedback from our guests has been overwhelming. So many people have told us it was the best wedding they have ever attended, and we know that is largely down to the venue, the team, and the atmosphere they create. Everything felt effortless, warm, personal and magical.

Absolutely stellar experience at Alfriston. A beautiful June weekend, the accommodations were perfect for a quick wedding. We stayed in the woodpecker cabin, and it was quaint but adorable. The grounds are picturesque, the food was killer, and the staff very friendly. A tremendous trip to the English countryside!

My husband and I had our wedding last month at Alfriston Gardens and we are all still talking about how the gorgeous venue and wonderful team made the day as special as it was. From when we first booked, Janie, India, and Nell were always so friendly and beyond helpful with the planning, giving tips and recommendations, and just generally making the whole process more relaxing and smooth sailing. I don’t know what we would’ve done without the team in the lead up and on the day because having them as day of coordinators helped me to just focus on having the best time. One of our favourite parts of hiring the venue was being able to have it from Friday all the way through to Sunday lunch, it meant that we felt like we really got to make the most of our time there and it even felt like a mini holiday for our and our bridal party/groomsmen with how peaceful the venue is. The rooms were all absolutely stunning, our guests loved staying in them and you can see the design and craftsmanship that has gone in to creating such a beautiful venue. We wanted to make the gardens a key part of our May wedding which was so easy as it is so maintained and the flowers in the garden made the photos and the atmosphere. There isn’t a single thing I would change about the venue or how the day went and that’s thanks to the Alfriston team. We hope to be guests at many weddings here in the future and want to thank Janie, India, and Nell for helping to give us the most special and unforgettable wedding day!

We haven't stayed as guests yet but we have visited a couple of times for a coffee and breakfast. Each time the experience has been an absolute delight. The staff are exceptional and make you feel like nothing is too much trouble. A beautiful place all round.

Our recent meeting at Alfriston Gardens was an excellent experience from start to finish. The venue itself is set in a beautiful location, creating a relaxed and professional environment away from the usual office setting.
The Oak Lodge meeting room was particularly impressive — very well presented, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for the day. The space felt private yet airy, and it worked perfectly for our group. The refreshments were also excellent, with teas, coffees and other amenities readily available throughout, which was greatly appreciated by everyone attending.
What stood out most was the level of service provided by the team. Everyone was friendly, attentive and happy to help wherever needed, making the entire day run smoothly and stress-free.
A fantastic venue for recent company meetings and one we would definitely consider using again in the future.
