The Bishop of Chelmsford, Stephen Cottrell said: " Chelmsford Diocese is 100 years old this year. People from all over this vast and diverse diocese from East London and Essex will be gathered in our Cathedral Church to welcome Her Majesty The Queen. The Queens visit is the icing on the cake of our centenary year."
 
Nicholas Henshall, The Dean of Chelmsford added: " But this visit is not just for us - it's for everyone in Chelmsford and across the region working for the common good."
 
Chelmsford Cathedral is the flagship of the Church of England in Essex and East London it has a parish, city and regional role.
