As Halloween creeps around the corner, we take a quick look at some of the ghoulish events and activities taking place across Chelsmford to keep you and your little terrors scared this Halloween:

Writtle Village Hall will be kicking things off with a performance of The Haunting of Hill House on Thursday 28th October at 8pm.

Running until the 30th october, the play is a tale of drama and suspense, which takes place in the forbidding Hill House whilst it is investigated for ghostly apparitions.

Local kids can enjoy a Children's Halloween Mask Workshop at The Stables Visitor Centre at Hylands House.

Starting at 2pm on Friday 29th October, the workshop will help local kids make scary masks and costumes just in time for Halloween trick or treating over the weekend.

Local parents can don their capes and cloaks with a Fancy Dress Halloween Disco at The Two Brewers pub.

Starting at 8pm, the disco features music, dancing and prizes for the best fancy dress.

Hylands House opens its gates to local ghosts and ghouls on Saturday from 10am, with Pumpkin Carving throughout the day, accompanied with spooky story telling and lantern making.

The house then opens again in the evening with a spine tingling Trick or Treat tour around the Pleasure Gardens, followed by a spooktacular light show.

Starting at 7pm on Saturday 30th October, the tour starts at just £4 for under 15's and includes hot and cold refreshments throughout the evening.
