October is shaping up to be a bumper month for local thespians as the Civic Theatre in Chelmsford unveils a calendar of shows featuring leading national stars.


Boasting Claire Sweeney in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, Tell me on a Sunday, a brand new Inspector Morse mystery, stand up comedy from BBC star Shappi Khorsandi and a new show by Joe Pasquale, the autumn calendar at the Civic promises to delight and enthral theatre lovers and newcomers alike.


Youngsters are not left out either with the premiere of a brand new show from the creators of children's favourite, The Gruffalo.


Room on the Broom runs from the 18th October until the 20th and offers a unique chance for local kids aged 3 and over to enjoy the magical, musical experience of the theatre for the first time.
