I really enjoyed the food, however the food portions are too small for the amount of money paid.

we visited bolton and decided to try the olympus for lunch, what a good choice we made. The restaurant is very well laid out with good decor..The added touch of waiters to meet and greet is very nice. Of course we ordered the fish and chips for lunch and really enjoyed them, maybe the price would put some people off but the quality is very good, when we visit bolton again we would certainly come back..

I am a local Boltonian, but i have always put off going to the restaurant part since they done it up about 10 years ago.
I went recently with my Girlfriends family. Her Grandparents love the place, and so do lots of other older people judging from the clientele. The place looks very nice, better than i expected! It is quite fancy inside (by Bolton standards), very clean and nicely furnished.
For a 'Chippy' the service is excellent, like no other chippy i have been to.
However, i do not like Fish, so unlike everyone else i did not have the fish and chips. Instead i had a cheese pie and chips. The pie was awful, it was a bit like cardboard and dry. I am pretty sure it had been microwaved and it was barely edible. The chips were alright, just like any other chip shop really.
The Grandparents loved the food, but everyone else didn't enjoy it (it's a good job they paid! Haha).
So ultimately, it is quite a bit more expensive than a normal chip shop - you pay for the lovely setting and good service to have a nice sit down. The food is nothing superior to a corner shop chippy to be honest.
I think this place offers something that is valued by the older generations and i can respect that. I would say say if you are in your 20's - 30's give it a miss as this place is a bit unsure and confused with itself. Is it a chippy or a fine restaurant? As fish and child go this is definitely the place to get it from. Would highly recommend to others wanting a lovely lunch. The service is so friendly too

Like the title would suggest its nice but nothing more than that, you can not really go wrong with fish and chips, i have visited this restaurant quite a few times as its my aunties favourite. The owner and staff are all really friendly and welcoming, its a place i feel for the older generation though not that many young people go in opting for the take away chipping attached. The fish chips and peas is of a good quality but its just nothing that special for the price you pay, i will continue to go with my auntie but not with my friends of partner.

The portions have to be seen to be believed. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the staff always helpful and are whilst busy are never too busy to neglect any customers. Well worth a visit.

The food is always of a very high standard, the staff are helpful and charming but it is the atmosphere at the Olympus which makes this restaurant 'something special'!

Excellent fish & chips in lovely surroundings. The service was excellent and really helpful. Being entertained by a pianist was a bonus and a very pleasant surprise. Can't speak for anything other than the fish & chips but why would you go to the restaurant if that was not what you wanted?

The Olympus is always good the food quality the service - always plenty of staff so you don't need to wait. Reasonably prices and always hot.

Yummy is not the word, not only did we have gorgeous scrumptious fish and chips a la Bolton, food was piping hot plates were hot, - clean everywhere you could see - waiters took your coats and hung them up, and helped you on with them when leaving, polite, helpful, and food was out quick as a flash too xxxx

We have visited the Olympic Restaurant for lunch on several occasions.Sometimes you have to wait in a short queue as its so popular with shoppers and oap's.
The menu is varied and includes,fish,scampi,steak puddings,pies and sausages etc .
Service is first class and always quick .

Not been for a while but went back with my kids for an after work tea time treat. Staff were lovely, very friendly, nice with my little ones, good was exactly what you would want, good quality, served quickly, reasonably priced. Kids loved it, we will be back sooner rather than later next time!

Was taken to the restaurant as part of a 1940s weekend with National Holidays. Didnt know what to expect but was totally suprised with lovely food and brilliant entertainment. The effort shown by the staff shone through - the drinks couldnt have been brought quicker to the tables and the staff getting involved with the dancing and fun it was a brilliant evening!

We went to this restaurant on Bank Holiday weekend, been many times,the food is first class,the staff are brilliant,nothing is too much trouble. The added bonus this time was the fact that they had dressed the dining area into a scene from World War 1 and 2. The staff dressed in uniforms,as soldiers,officers and even land girls.There were small parties of very elderly people,a live band who where playing and singing 40's music. Every one was joining in ,the staff where dancing with the customers and the atmosphere was electric. What a lunch,what a place and what kind staff.

Booked lunch for mum's special birthday. Staff were very pleasant, polite & helpful. Fish & Chip lunch was delicious & great value for money. Restaurant is beautifully decorated & spotlessly clean. Service was excellent & mum was overwhelmed with kindness of staff. The owner came over & made a fuss of her, before using his mobile to start the piano playing 'Happy Birthday' to which the staff sang. Having 'fish & chips' a food she really enjoys was only meant to play a small part of her birthday celebration but instead had a significant impact on how much she enjoyed her special day. We would all definitely recommend the restaurant & say they were the best 'fish & chips' by far, served by genuinely, lovely staff.
