From the moment you walk in, Service from the ' Old School ' . Sadly lacking today in todays modern world. Modern layout with quality fixtures and fittings. Excellent atmosphere and ambiance. The food is all fresh and delivered promptly with a smile. The pianist would remind some of a lounge on a cruise ship. Quality ! . Most enjoyable visit. Many Thanks until the Next time.

Where do you start

Overpriced
Under portioned
Slow service to name just 3, I unlike the other reviewers do not work for the chippy so will say exactly how it it,never will I eat here again and the prices put a Harry ramsden chippy to shame. Il be blunt but honest, avoid this places unless your happy to spend £50 on a family of 4 for a load of chips and some heavily fried sardines

Having been told by several people how good this place was, and being in Bolton at lunch time on a rather cold day, what better time to try. The first surprise was having the door opened for us as we approached (nice touch), second was the lovely style of the décor. All the staff were really attentive. Third surprise the choice of meals available and finally having chosen to go for the recommended fish and chip option the quality (superb). This place knocks spots off Harry Ramsdens. Defo be back.!!!

By chance on a recommendation from a local shop went for lunch. The wet Wednesday was taken over by the Palm Pianist and his beautiful music what a surprise. The staff were very attentive and we had a lovely meal. How nice it was for one of the staff to open the door for us on our exit. We will certainly return. Thank You

I am a regular patron here and so my review is a summary. The portion size is not huge but then nor is the price - and the decor and service is outstanding. This is a busy and popular restaurant but rarely have we had to wait long for our meal to be served.

If you eant simple sustenance, this might not be the restaurant to choose; if you want decent food, good service - and live music then it's highly recommended.

Called here for lunch food excellent service really good. You get what you pay for, not the cheapest but it's defiantly the best in the town centre.

Decided to have my lunch here which was my first visit for some time. Whatever the issue was which caused a disappointing recent hygiene rating the "Front of House" operation has always been excellent.& was no different this time.
Restaurant & tables very clean as usual & staff firendly & efficient without being overbearing. I ordered a large cod, chips & peas, with bread & a soft drink. I had the 8oz cod which took the bill well over £10.00 & probably the most expensive fish & chips I've ever had. That said the fish itself was perfectly cooked nice, white & very tasty. Portion of chips I found to be on small side & "average"
Restaurant was about half to two thirds full which was quite surprising as I thought it would be full with Xmas Shoppers so I had a nice pleasant & quiet lunch. Most customers seem to be pensioners taking advantage of special offers for them.
On the whole, nice food with delicious fish but some may feel it's a bit too pricey for this type of food, so dabatable whether it's value for money. Being a fan of traditional fish & chips however I will be back ! . .

£ 7.30 for fish chips and mushy peas - pretty good value for money. All well cooked and we didn't have to wait long. It wasn't very busy on this occasion and I wonder if the bad publicity over its low H & S inspection mark has had an affect on business. I am sure that whatever the problem was, it will have been rectified by now as it always used to get top marks. No problems for us.

We love this place and eat here whenever we are in Bolton. Beautifully decorated, clean and very friendly staff. The food is fresh, hot and well prepared. Never had a bad meal here and I used to go when it was next door to the Swan Hotel. The moussaka is the best and they do scraps.
A little pricey but worth the cost.
Highly recommend.

Called with my friend for lunch on a Saturday two weeks ago, we were approached by a very charming maître d' who showed us to a table. Our meal was average fish and chips served by very polite waiter. As we ate we noticed the maître d' helping people into their coats as they left! We had a pensioners choice, which included pots of tea and bread and butter. All very nice and not over faced with piles of chips. The fish batter was nice and crisp. We didn't stay for dessert, but I will consider it on a future visit. A visit to the ladies before we left reminded me of the facilities on a cruise ship, excellent, and sparkling clean. I also noticed a grand piano and conservatory area! Well worth a visit! I shall definitely eat there again!

I visited here recently to treat my Grandma and mother in law as I knew they would love it.
We requested to sit in the orangery and they seated us immediately. There is a little more space and the chairs are very comfortable.
The food was prompt, very hot and fresh and very tasty.
My grandma (who is 90) loved it and enjoyed the fresh pot of tea along with her fish and chips.
I had the steak pudding which is lovely.
All the food is fresh and tasty and the restaurant is very warm, relaxing and a nice cosy atmosphere. I especially like how all the staff present themselves, they dress very smart and always appear friendly and helpful.
Very good service for a fish and chip restaurant, definitely worth a visit.

We have been here many times and never let down on fish and chips not in the least greasy we always ask for lightly battered and that's just what we get. Staff are lovely too. Puddings not that great , but after all it's a fis and chip palace.

Best Fish and Chips money can buy. Very clean, plenty seating, great service, and friendly staff. We have eaten here many times while visiting Bolton, and it's always up to the same high standard. Opens for lunch, but closes in the evening.

On returning to England after living in France for a few years I missed my fish and chips. I had fish chips and mushy peas tea bread and butter. It was amazing. the staff could not do enough to please. I noticed a lot of pensioners enjoying lunch. A good sign (there are no better critics) Highly recommended.

If you want to try fish & chips like they used to be, then a visit to the Olympus is a must. The seating, staff & atmosphere are second to none, the fish, chips & mushy peas with bread & butter & a pot of tea are to die for. Give it a try, but don't tell your friends - it may get too crowded

Always an excellent meal in lovely surroundings. been here on numerous occasions when out shopping, the staff are always very courteous. You are greated at the door and offered a choice of tables, you then order and pay for your meal at the counter. We usually have the Olympus special which is fish, chips, mushy peas, slice of buttered bread and tea or coffee. You are served tea or coffee first while they are preparing your meal, service is always fast you never wait very long and the meal is always freshly cooked. Olympus have a takeaway attached to the restaurant as well with a separate entrance. When you are ready to leave the waiters always help you on with your coat, such a lovey gesture, and they always say thankyou as your leaving.

From the moment you walk in your greeted warmly at the door, and conducted to a table, the room is airy, and spotless, the service after you have ordered at the counter, like a restaurant, the food is always hot and good, the staff are just 'there' when you need them, and not when you don't, my favorite dish is Mozacka and chips,( sorry can't spell it), which they make on the premises. it is not a cheap place, but it shows all round, even the Toilets are like a five star hotel.
