I just fancied something to eat and as it was tea time thought chips, so here I am having fish and chips for tea.
At 6pm on a Thursday the restaurant is huge and well lit with a lot of natural light coming in from the big windows. I was greeted by a smiling member of staff and shown to a table, where I was instructed to order my food when ready at the counter, and I was served with a smile.
My food came out quickly and was hot, but I'll be honest I've been served bigger fish for less money but that said it was very nice (not greasy and the chips were crisp).
The visit is one that I'm glad I've done and I'm sure I'll come again with family at some point.
Worth a visit if your in the area and feel hungry.

Bank Holiday Saturday was the 1940's lunch complete with air raid sirens. The quality of service and food is always excellent but the singers added an extra little something. Obviously the average age was rather high but it was a very very professional event. Well done Tasos.

Been here a few times now and I'm never disappointed. From the first moment they welcome you at the door to helping you on with your coat as you say goodbye the service is fantastic. We usually have the "just enough" special and it is as it says, just enough! The fish is a pure white fillet and the batter very crispy and the best tasting tartare sauce I've ever had. Service is fast and much appreciated when it's lunch time. Fantastic atmosphere at Christmas with the choir, not something you'd expect. Don't just walk by thinking it's just a chippy because it is anything but.

Had the traditional fish n chips it was nice, portion size is quite big. the chips not too greasy and fish gently battered. Would definitely go here again if I fancied a large lunch.

Without searching through all the wonderful reviews I cannot be sure that I have not reviewed this restaurant before. Even if I have it is so good it deserves another review. If you can find a fault at this restaurant you are either a genius or a hyper critical diner. We have been several times and have never been disappointed. The food is freshly cooked and beautifully served. We will be returning many times.The live piano music is an added bonus.

Seems the only place you can get haddock over here. Mega expensive though. The wertherby whaler is far less expensive and tons better but too far to travel just for a lunch. You have to ask for the fish to be skinned and cooked crispy. It's a shame as it is ok but just that. Again I have to say it is very expensive if you aren't a pensioner and want a decent portion.

There is nothing to dislike at the Olympus. Lovely decor and so comfortable. For such a busy restaurant, it is surprisingly spacious. Good menu with reasonable prices. The portions are good and the service excellent. A place to visit again and again.

I visited Olympus fish and chips recently and their Olympus Just Enough was enough for me it was expensive at just over £7. The staff were courteous and were quick with the food and it was hot, you also got tea and bread and butter.

On a trip from New Zealand found the restaurant after getting off the train at the nearby station.
From the second we walked in the service was first rate, efficient and as high a standard as I have ever seen. I actually saw the staff helping old ladies put on their coats on and walking them out of the building whilst carrying their bags for them.
The restaurant was spotlessly clean, with a nice decor and most importantly the food was quick, pipping hot and tasted fantastic. If I ever find myself in that part of the world again, I will be in there quick smart. It's almost worth getting back on a plane and heading over. Well worth a visit.

We always enjoy visiting here for the excellent fish and chips plus the excellent staff that fuss over you even help you on and off with your coat. Great atmosphere in the restaurant with a pianist - got to be the best around.

Lovely interior decor very professional, you get greeted and shown to your table, and even a helping hand with your coat when you are ready to leave. It makes a refreshing change for a customer to be treated like this.

This is a very popular restaurant predominantly fish & chips, although they do open early and cater to the breakfast customer,it is probably the best in town centre. We have been many times and tend to take it for granted, however it is better than that . Very comfortable setting. Most meals come complete with bread & butter, tea/coffee/fruit juice. Staff are always very smart and helpful. Specials available on most days and OAP's well catered for. An excellent restaurant, always spotless and also has a take away outlet at the side should you want to wander!

Live in Cheshire,and 4 of us were going to the Octagon Theatre for a Saturday evening show.
Boltonians at work useless at recommending somewhere handy to eat before the show.
A very posh well decorated 'sit down' fish and chip restaurant.Good meal, reasonable portion - £8.60 for proper fish, chips, mushy peas, bread & butter and a pot of tea.That would easily be £11-12 at some gastro-pub,and probably not as good as this.
Quick friendly service.Noticed they were very courteous to two senior citizens with limited mobility and escorted them to their taxi.
Shuts at 7pm prompt, so fine for a 7.30m show at the Octagon 5 mins walk away.
Would visit again

I went with my mum (in her 80s) for lunch - we got there just before 12 and was amazed to see the restaurant already half full. We were welcomed to a table and ordered haddock and chips (with peas, bread and a cup of tea) for £6.80 each. It was delicious, freshly cooked and promptly served. All through the meal people were arriving - explained by the arrival of the pianist who proceeded to play for everyone. You have to visit if you are in the area!

I went to Olympus for lunch after being recommended, and it didn't disappoint. The staff was very friendly, helpful and gave an excellent service. The fish & chips was very good, probably one of the best I've had, and reasonably priced for the quality & quantity. The restaurant had a good family friendly atmosphere, and very clean. I would recommend Olympus for great British fish & chips at its best. I defiantly will be going back.

Super fish and chips - also recommend the Moussaka ! Standard is consistently good, pleasant surroundings and greatly improved with the addition of the conservatory part.. The family are always welcoming and ensure the staff are always pleasant and attentive as they are. A pleasant place to pop into the middle of town.
