For those people who need to dip into their childhood and taste those Friday nights queueing for the cod and chips....Olympus is a much better option. No waiting. Amazing service and food and such great value plus table and no newspaper wrapping.

This is a great PLAICE for lunch dinne or tea or breakfast now. The food comes from the chip shop part of the restaurant which is technically next door. You go in and are greeted at the door and then offered a table. You chose your meal, go and pay and then sit down and await it's arrival which will only be minutes, if that. There is a nice atmosphere and the owner is always wandering around speaking to everyone.
If we are going to a show in Manchester, usually by train, we will pop in and eat before going. Plenty of sizes of portions from pensioners to the large. All great value.

My mother in law took us here to celebrate our daughters 14th birthday. It's brilliant, lovely staff, lovely food, great atmosphere, "a glass of wine with your chips" it sounds odd but it was wonderful. They brought a cake out for our daughter, sang to her then bought her and my other daughter a milkshake each.

My sister and I when to the Olympus on 31/08/2015. We had a realy good time ,the atmosphere was brillient. The staff very friendly and helpful,and dressed for the occasion. Food and drink suburb,. Will recomend it to people and will certainly come again. M hankin and M grimes.

Its really is good fish and chips and in the take away attached to it you can sometimes find special offers for cones of chips and even get scraps thrown in.

Took a coach group here for a two course dinner, we had a very friendly welcome, the food was excellent served by helpful smiling friendly staff, cooked well, tasted great and did not have to wait too long to be served.
Tassos runs what must be the best fish and chip restaurant in the UK with a pianist playing while eating your meal, good value for money and great for groups.
If you are looking for somewhere to eat in the Bolton area this is a must but remember it closes at 7pm.

Super friendly greeting by proprietor, excellent surroundings, superb fish and chips. Lovely touch with pianist on grand piano. Wish I lived where I could visit more often.

Where can I start with this restaurant, my family and I have been visiting here for the past few years after being hooked on the first visit. The food is absolutely delicious and varied, with home made dessert menu and a selection of wines and beers available, its so clean you could be in a top class hotel, staff are so welcoming and friendly and can't do enough for you, it's truly a gem in Bolton, can't wait for our next visit !!!!!!

A real 'find' when we were in Bolton yesterday and dived inside to escape the rain.
Spotlessly clean, carpeted floor, smiling waitress service and delicious fish and chips.
This was fish+ chips as it used to be!
My one criticism, and the reason why I am giving this restaurant 4stars, is the tasteless mushy peas. Disappointing, although we just left the pot of peas to one side so the meal was still very enjoyable.

Visited with my father (90yrs old) and friend last Wednesday lunchtime. Queue beyond the door - no wonder, the fish and chips ordered were of good "chippy" quality - smaller portions on the OAP menu suited my father. Quality restaurant ambience and decor. Fast service by polite staff. Good cup of tea!

We've been a number of times over the years and it's always the same - consistent. Good service, good food served efficiently with pleasant staff, in a unique (to fish and chip shops) environment. This must be a first stop for visitors to Bolton who are looking for Fish and Chips as they'll not find better anywhere. It is above the average price-wise, but quality products, excellent hygiene, staff well trained and efficiency costs.

Have been eating in this restaurant for many years but, sadly, it is not quite as good as it used to be. Cannot put my finger on it but it has definitely gone down in my estimation. You used to have to queue but there are many empty tables now. Rather sad.

visited the olympus for the first time today, really enjoyed my experience. Great food fish & chips piping hot and fresh service second to none quick and staff happy and polite. Even had a pianist playing during our meals made for a really great atmosphere, very busy but meals were served quickly with very little delay. Cant wait to visit again.

Have just had a lovely meal at this restaurant whilst visiting the town. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and the staff attentive.
Obviously the meal was pricier than the takeaway part but the condition of chairs, non greasy table and delightful surroundings made it worthwhile.
Don't recommend the cups of tea as there was a weird taste but everything else was lovely!

Always very attentive, made to feel welcome, after placing order at counter, the freshly made tea was delivered to table very fast. Including extra hot water, The pensioner special is extremely good value, and obviously cooked fresh to order, the restaurant is light and airy, with a pianist playing the grand piano, adding to the great experience,

i'd never been here before, but would definitely go again. the restaurant was lovely- -it has a grand piano!- -and the food was very nice. but my rating is based on the staff, who were fantastic, from the friendly chap that greeted and seated me, to the gallant chap that helped me put my jacket on when I left! great atmosphere too.

This is THE place to go for Fish & Chips in the Town Centre of Bolton.
As well as a take away " Chip Shop" there is also a very smart Cafe. You are meeted & greeted at the door, escorted to your table & helped off with your coat. The staff are very polite & helpful , the service very swift. On some days you are serenaded with a gentleman playing the piano which is delightful. Throughly recommended.

I am sorry but I don't think the Olympus is as good as it thinks. The food is just 'OK'. I have had far better fish and chips in many other establishments & usually for less money.Won't be going again.

We were going to see a play at the Octagon and decided to eat in Bolton. Now, there aren't too many restaurants in the centre of Bolton to choose from, but if there were I would choose this one. The place is huge but doesn't feel empty. We had haddock and cips, scampi and chips and sausage and chips. Yes it's a chip shop. The service is impeccable and the food really good.
