The hotel is very comfortable and well appointed..The only complaint being that there is no Air conditioning and as we were visiting at the height of a very long hot spell..
The staff are superb, friendly, fun, efficient and helpful..What more can one ask of a hotel's staff. One of the staff , Zouwie (Apology for spelling if wrong) should be singled out for particular praise..Nothing too much trouble and very funny with it..A total gem..

Checked in on Monday was greeted by receptionist (Zowie) fantastic service from her, talked us through hotel and amenities made us all feel like we were at home, excellent communication skills and a real asset to the hotel, room was spacious and very clean, enjoyed our stay and will be booking again when we are in the area, would recommend to everyone

Nice hotel, there were things we liked about it and things that could be improved.
Things we liked were that all staff were very professional and friendly. The hotel as a whole was very clean, the bedroom had a lovely king-sized bed so there was plenty of space for us. The bathroom is large as well. The breakfast was lovely, they made vegan sausages for me which I loved and there was so much to choose from e.g. fruit, yoghurt, cold ham and cheese, hot buffet food, and lots of cereal.
There were a couple of things we thought could have been better. Firstly, there wasn't air conditioning or fans in the room and when we asked for an air conditioning unit some people got we were told that they had a limited supply and would put one in our room if there was one, we never got one in our two-night stay which is concerning given we are in a heatwave.
Next in terms of negatives is the evening meal food is very expensive and we thought that we didn't get a lot for what we paid for. We had 2 burgers which came with chips and salad, 2 desserts, 2 alcoholic drinks and 2 soft drinks which came to about £60.
The other thing I thought was odd was that I used the swimming facilities and waited over 10 minutes at the reception to be told that the lockers don't lock but the staff did offer to store my wallet somewhere secure which was very kind of them.
All in all a nice place, a very quiet hotel and good places to drive to in terms of restaurants, pubs, cinemas etc.

Myself and my now husband had our wedding at the Georgian House on Saturday 6th August 2022 and I honestly can’t thank Rochelle enough for all her help leading up to the wedding! She was so responsive on her emails whenever I had a question and she put my mind at ease if I had any worries. We had several meetings with Rochelle in the lead up and she was always so professional, friendly and helpful. She couldn’t do enough for us. I also want to thank Chris and Jimmy who were amazing too. Chris stayed with me late the night before the wedding to ensure I had told him all the finer details regarding decor and he put my mind at ease, and he helped so much all day. Jimmy also went to so much effort, helping with ringing suppliers on the day, bringing a fan to my room, the list goes on! Thank you so much Rochelle, Chris and Jimmy, you guys were amazing. Kelsi was also fabulous during the wedding breakfast, ensuring everyone had the correct meals and that it was all good for us. The food was amazing so thank you to all the catering staff, everyone said how good the food was, including the buffet which was amazing. Again a huge thank you, I felt so welcomed on my wedding day and like I had known you all for years! We had a really good laugh along the way. Thank you, from Mr & Mrs Dean :)

A lovely weekend in a hotel of the good old times with a marvellous swimming pool. Clean, neat, tidy, wonderful all apart a very unpleasant surprise that initially we were offered a coupon for 13.75 per person instead of the dinner we had paid for., while the cheapest item in the menu was some 15 pounds. It is very fortunate that the manager & staff responded instantly and we were served a proper meal -nothing big but it was delicious and to the appropriate for the hotel standard. The breakfast was on the other hand extremely rich and I have no doubt in my mind that if there were a proper dinner I would have given a 5 out of 5 rating.

Place was generally clean, the staff were very helpful and friendly. However, the entire place needs updating. It's like travelling back in time. Decor in all areas is poor. The room was a decent size, but as everywhere else, desperately needs updating.

Mecure Georgian House Hotel bolton, where do we begin. Our wedding day was amazing all thanks to your team! We couldnt of asked for a more perfect day. The attention to detail you went into to make everything perfect and making sure us and our guests where happy, you all went above and beyond for us! Rochelle and Chris you guys where so lovely in planning our wedding. No amount of emails and phone calls was too much for you.

Went here for a Murder mystery, what a fantastic evening, the Staff were fantastic especially Jimmy and Chris, who really looked after us and the girls behind the bar, who even joined in to try and solve the mystery. The food was excellent and served at just the right time, so the actors did not collide with them. All in all a great night

I feel a bit sad about this because some of the staff were lovely and we did t use the less facilities but they looked well equipped but really the hotel was very basic and both ours and our sons room had a quite unpleasant smell. My daughter was there for the Ironman as we’re a lot of the guests but the hotel also had a wedding going on with a loud disco. I know hotels need to make their money but the noise from the disco did disrupt sleep which isn’t good if your doing 14 hours of exercise the next day! Having said that they were very helpful with the bike and did do an early - very early breakfast for the Ironmen! I think the rooms need upgrading. Also as I’m sure many places do - more staff in the evening - we went into the bar and every table needed clearing.

First of all I would just like to thank all the team at Mercure Georgian House Hotel for being so helpful throughout the whole planning of our wedding and on the big day itself. Especially Rochelle and Chris are wedding planners who went above and beyond for us in every way, they could not do enough for us and for that we just want to thank them for everything, they have been truly amazing. The planning process was made so more easier and a whole lot less stressful because of all of their help and organisation, I don’t think we could have done it without them! The day itself could not have run any more smoothly, the room turn arounds were done quickly and looked stunning each and every time. The day itself couldn’t have been any more wonderful than it was, it really was perfect and everything we had dreamed of. The room was decorated beautifully in our chosen colour scheme and decorations, the food was gorgeous, the venue itself and the grounds are lovely and so picture perfect, the staff are all really friendly and ourselves and all our guests commented on how accommodating and welcoming they all were. My only wish is that we could do it all over again! I would highly recommend the Mercure Georgian House Hotel to any of our family, friends or anyone else thinking of booking an event somewhere. I had a excellent experience for my 30th birthday party in the Windsor Suite at the Mercure Georgian House Blackrod. Rochelle the events manager went above and beyond to make sure my party went as smoothly as possible the rest of the staff was really friendly and really helpful.

Hi we stayed at the mercy of Bolton and Hotel had a lovely time thank you the dog stayed with us in the room very comfortable the staff were lovely they could not do enough for us and the breakfast was delicious we had to sit outside the restaurant but this was not a problem as there are lots of tables in The room you walk through . Again we had an excellent stay would highly recommend.

We booked our wedding blessing and naming ceremony around 3 months prior to the set date and the staff were nothing but helpful, friendly and accommodating throughout the entire process. Fantastic communication and service. The suite was perfect for our event and the bar was a great social area. Lovely outdoor garden and views of Rivington Pike at the back for photos. The DJ recommended through the hotel was good as well. Really good buffet in the evening and breakfast in the morning, the four poster room was a nice addition too! The staff made everything run smoothly and the whole experience was fantastic. Would highly recommend!

We had our wedding at the Georgian House on 18th of June. I cannot thank the whole staff enough. Not only was the venue perfect, but the staff were really helpful and friendly, all day and night the staff made sure me and my husband were tended to as well as our family! Would definitely recommend it here for anyone that is looking for the perfect place to have their wedding!!

We arrived early, so ordered a sandwich each, which took 45 minutes to arrive, my wife had a prawn mayonnaise sandwich, there was only 5 small prawns in the sandwich, we complained and they took it away and we only paid for our drinks, my wife shared my cheese sandwich, we didn't want to wait again. Breakfast was another problem, the hot buffet was okay, but there were no fried eggs, we were informed that they were on there way, but 10 minutes later, no eggs, so we had a breakfast without eggs. We will not stay there again.

The advice and organisation was absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and all staff were exceptionally attentive and helpful. The function room was ideal for our party size (30/40 ). We also booked 3 family rooms for 2 nights, which were very comfortable and clean. We would unreservedly recommend, based on our experience.

Came up to visit parents an wanted a dog friendly hotel, an this one didn't disappoint, met with a very friendly welcome by Zowie on reception, sorry I forgot your names, but lady who worked at the bar came over to see our dog Teddy was lovely, an the hotel manager I think was lovely too. Great food, nice room,great view from our window, clean, comfortable an relaxing staying. Would definitely return as well as recommend

This hotel is a hidden gem and the customer service and facilities were excellent. I will definitely be returning in the near future! The customer service from start to finish was excellent especially Zowie on reception.

I booked in to this hotel earlier and was impressed by the hotel and especially the customer service from Zowie on reception. She is a welcome face to greet a weary traveller and trust her bosses appreciate her. The room is excellent with a view of the moors and the indoor pool is an added bonus. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to prospective customers.

This hotel has som much potential but the jaded room that I was in let it down, and it needs a lick of paint and some new fitments to transform it to the modern world from the 1980s

Noticed a real shortage of plugs and I had to ask for an adaptor to use in my room as only one plug worked
I reported the WiFi issue to staff but after two days of asking I realised that I was being robbed off with some excuse about the cables being inaccessible

I usually stay here on trips to Bolton because it has a swiming pool and well equipped gym (including sauna and steam room). The rooms and other facilities are what you would expect from a hotel chain but what sets the hotel apart is the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. So I recommend it on that basis.

Stayed here at the start of April for two nights whilst visiting family. Irene in the bar is a diamond, good old northern welcome and lovely to talk to. Jonny was fantastic upon welcoming us and the next day took time to have a chat with us and gave us a few ideas on places to shopping in the area - he couldnt do enough to make us feel welcome. Lovely staff, lovely stay.
