Great stay for work at the Mercure Bolton, the rooms are clean, some upgrades are underway which is only going to further improve the experience. The best part of my stay had to be the staff! I travel a lot for work and never in a hotel chain have I experienced such friendly staff! From check-in to bar staff and my favourite Lydia welcoming me every day for breakfast! She was like a ray of sunshine when I’m my normal pre-caffeinated grumpy self! It may not be quite as cheap as the premier inn, but the extra few pounds a night for me was definitely worth the experience.

Amazing hotel, spend 3 weeks here and can not complain, spa is super clean and the staff are super friendly. The receptionist Bruna was really nice to me offering me a fan when I checked in, that definitely saved my life during the heat, and the breakfast lady, I think Lynda, she was always so bubbly and friendly and helpful. The management has definitely done a great job at hiring people.

Stayed just for one night but will definitely stay here on all my visits to Bolton. Has clean rooms with a comfy bed. Large parking facility as well.

I came here for a work conference but stayed a few days longer to explore the area.
The staff in the hotel were so lovely and friendly. Especially the lady who was serving at breakfast, Lydia, was excellent!

I stayed here for work, and I stay at a lot of places, but this place was very surprising. The rooms are basic, but what you get for the money is very pleasing.
Firstly, there is a full gym with a pool! Helpful on those days out for work. Secondly the food was brilliant. Very nice indeed.
But the breakfast was a proper breakfast. Thanks to Lydia who was very attentive in the morning. I managed to order an omelette with all the trimmings but I noticed that they had proper Greek yogurt also, nice selection of pastries and juices, as well as everything else you'd want/expect.

This is my 5th or 6rh time staying here and I must say that you are always made to feel welcome at this hotel. Great benefit of the lift in the front part of the hotel now installed, last time had to struggle up 2 flights of stairs with luggage. Shelia in reception always seems to be on duty and both her and Lynda in the breakfast restaurant were always attentive and very pleasant. Will look forward to staying there again. Close to Hörwick Parkway railway station with free parking, makes travelling to Blackpool or Manchester a pleasant and enjoyable experience.

5 star service. Held a conference in the Park Avenue suite which was a great venue. Staff were pleasant and very helpful. Refreshments and lunch also top notch.

We stayed here on Saturday night for a Fawlty Towers night
We booked an early check in to make a weekend of it and use the pool and hot tub etc. Sadly the pool and hot tub were not in use and they’d no rooms available at 10-30am ( early check in from 10am). We had drinks in the bar until the room was ready at 12.30 pm but as we could not swim there was no reason to be there until 6pm
To be honest the room was nice and the breakfast ok but the food with the show was less good - the show itself was good though.
I felt ripped off by the early check in fee which was useless to me.
The bar in the foyer was pricey and poorly stocked but the lady there (Irene) worked hard - I got the idea that there were very few staff that day.

This hotel has improved greatly since the last time a stayed here. The health club need money spending on it desperately. Lydia in breakfast was very nice and very helpful. It's a fair price for a fair hotel. The WiFi could be better.

Well what can I say and where do I start I had my wedding here on 8/6/24 my wedding planner Rochelle jeffereys was amazing from start to finish, she was more like a friend to us even pointing out things us brides forget about along the way lol, I would highly recommend having any event at the mecure and I will definitely be back next year to celebrate our 1 year anniversary for sure ❤️, Rochelle went above and beyond for us throughout our wedding from trying to find us a singer 3 days b4 as ours cancelled to sourcing us a new venue dresser at midnight the night before our wedding as ours massively let us down , I believe it was the one who the hotel actually use themselves and my room was out of this world , I am forever grateful to Rochelle and all the kind, caring staff at the hotel mecure and I class them all as family , love mr and mrs watkin Laura and Barry xxx

Crikey, where do we start here? The rooms are awful. However, the people and service were good. The beds and bathrooms really let this place down. I arrive tired and I left this place.tired. Nice breakfast and Lydia was most attentive.
