Gorgeous relaxing hotel in good location - lovely location near local and national parks etc.
- great decor and light spaces
- spa facilities were good
- great food in both the pub and the main restaurant
- friendly staff
- room was cleaned sporadically over duration of our stay and hot drink station/cups not replaced
- freeview TV channels only (not a major problem!)

Not the best The staff were very helpful The room had not been cleaned for a while, there was a LOT of dust and a packet of half eaten pistachios in a drawer (good job there are no serious nut allergies). I made reception aware and they apologised, cleaned the room and gave us a £20 voucher. I booked this as a family stay for our daughters birthday yet our rooms were not close together. The pool water was very cold and although you have to book sessions for the pool and sauna (limited to 50 minutes for each), there were so many people that we didn't get to try out all of the facilities. The food was also not the best and we waited almost 40 minutes for our order to be taken when it wasn't exactly busy. We booked our table for 8 and by the time the food was ordered and given to us, it was almost 10pm when we left the restaurant. I won't be going again and would not recommend a stay here.

I stayed for 5 wks for work and the facilities are very gd, the spa and hydrotherapy pool area is absolutely fantastic. I loved the shops and 3 restaurant places really good. There are lovely country walks. The cottage rooms are unique and quirky. I would definitely stay again and it is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Amanda on reception and Aaron the night manager are amazing and a credit to the company.

A bit overpriced, but still offers a lot. Staff friendly. Good choice at breakfast including veggie options. Pool changing clean. Pool open at a good time to take the kids early morning before check out. Booked a family room for 4, had to ask for an extra cup. Realised later that we only had 3 towels as well. On site pub had limited food options for veggie/halal. Room lampshade a bit damaged, bathroom didn’t smell great- for the price we paid, we expected a little more finesse.

Updating Our Review:
So originally we left a pretty bad review as our experience wasn't great. However I would just like to say that the management reached out to us to discuss our issues and what had gone wrong. They offered for us to return to give them the opportunity to show us that they had taken on some of the feedback. I have to say that this second visit was a completely different experience. It was obvious that the management had taken on board all of the comments from us and other guests over the last few weeks between our visits and completely changed the vibe.
Credit where credit is due
Thankyou

Sorry to have to leave a review online normally allow the business to discuss personally but have to say that we were really disappointed with our stay, bookings were disorganised and missed off, changes to booking were made by the hotel the day before we were expecting to arrive. Tried to reach out to the management privately after a few issues with our stay to discuss further but both the Manager and the director have failed to reply to us which I think is a shame.
Have to say that customer service is not their strong point and we won't be coming back again.

We had a perfect night away for our wedding anniversary. The anniversary platter was a lovely touch and really appreciated. The room was clean and well presented, the bed was very comfortable. We would have appreciated more coffee and milk in the room. The food at the Drop Inn was delicious, especially the Chicken Croquettes. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for a perfect break.

Rooms were cosy but nothing luxurious. We got a great deal direct through the website including a 1 night stay, 2 course meal, spa access & breakfast. The evening meal was amazing. Village was very cute. The location was a little disappointing as it has been surrounded by newbuikd houses, also the outdoor pool in the spa overlooked the car park.

It was a really unpleasant experience .
For two nights, I paid £281.70 for this .
I have sent several emails to the manager , Mike Evans , and have received nothing.
This was the weekend of 30th September!!!!
The room smelt, was so damp they had put the heating on full and opened the windows. The carpet was drenched around the wardrobe.
I have stayed here many times . It is going down hill fast, sadly.

We were on a coach holiday from Norfolk,so I can only comment from that perspective.
Room was spacious with kettle,tea,coffee.
Bathroom : bath with shower over,Normal radiator, not heated towel rail, towels were soft and white. Tiles on wall around sink and shower could do with some elbow grease. Shower head needs attention, scale build up. The most annoying thing was the extra door between the bathroom and bedroom it opens onto the wardrobe,so you have to close this door,to get to the wardrobe.
Restaurant: As I said,we are a coach party.
So portion control/ choice was limited.Breakfast was the fill up for the day,as you helped yourself.
Evening Meal: one meat, one fish, one vegetarian choice, one of. So for 4 nights, pork, chicken, beef, which was like leather.Aldente veg, couldn t get your knife in some of them.
I m not a meat/veg person,so I ask if chef could do a salad for me,big mistake, what did I get half bowl of salad leaves grated cheese/ham,no cucumber no tomato no dressing .What a disappointment,If I d serviced that to one of my customers,it would have been sent back to the kitchen.Food was boring, desserts sounded lovely until it was placed in front of you,hot dessert on a large cold plate.!!!
There is a spa,if that's yours forte, but as we were on excursion every day, there couldn t have been time to use anyway.
No time to explore the hotel properly or facilities, there are shops within the hotel.
The hotel now stands in a housing estate apparently there were lovely view over the surrounding area.

Beautiful hotel, spa was so relaxing and staff were so welcoming and friendly. Beautiful inside and out had a very grand feel to it. I also loved how there is a little village with miniature shops and a pub on site

Fabulous pit stop for a long journey North. Great pit stop for us with 2 dogs on the way up north. The kids loved the pool, and the staff couldn’t have been more lovely!

Booked in at the last minute for a business trip. Comfortable bed, good breakfast. My only quip is personal about the location, otherwise faultless.

Relaxing, comfy night. It’s a nice location and the facilities “Village spa” was really good. The property feels outdated to some 4 star hotels I have stayed in. The prices for a night is more than it should be due to the lack of modernising the rooms as there very basic and I wouldn’t say offers a 4 star experience.
