I booked an overnight spa trip for my daughter and we had a very relaxing time. The staff were friendly and the infinity pool was so relaxing. Although it is a shame that houses have been built near the hotel, it is still relaxing & I wouldn't let this put people off especially as the building work is virtually complete on the houses nearest the spa.
We enjoyed our two-course meal included in the price and there was a full breakfast and being a buffet, we could choose exactly what we wanted. Apart form the hard black pudding, it was all lovely!
The little shops in the complex are always an added extra to browse and just make the place the relaxing little haven that it has always been for us.

my stay very enjoyable overall. spa was excellent. public areas were all very pleasant. bed comfortable, food at breakfast and service both fabulous room was basic and in need of refurbishment. could also be improved by a couple of packets of biscuits. window latch was broken and there was no telephone. the ventilation system above the main entrance needs attention as paint was peeling off in big chunks.

The spa is very nice. The room was dated and pretty poor for the price really. Much better options out there in this price bracket. Breakfast was ok but the table wasn’t cleaned properly. We also had an evening meal which again was nothing more than average.

Delightfully terrific hotel. The spa is awesome, with a great infinity pool, super steam rooms and super 20m pool. The restaurant was welcoming, with great staff and brilliant food for both breakfast & dinner. Loved everything.

We stayed here during the month of March in a classic room. After a slight issue with online check in displaying incorrect details we arrived and checked in on site. The room was large with a double and single bed, a small table and chairs and lovely light bathroom. We had pre ordered the pamper packs and sadly we were missing a few items from this, a quick phone call to reception and they rectified this within minutes.
We made use of the spa facilities which were lovely, everywhere was nice and clean and there were cleaners constantly moving excess water from walk ways etc. it was very busy, which did impact slightly as there were minimal beds to lounge on, so we used facilities and went without hanging around. The infinity pool was our favourite, lovely and warm and had a lovely outlook. As per other reviews there are houses being built nearby and they will undoubtedly infringe on a wider view, but I was not out off by this and there were no works going on at the weekend. We booked on a dinner bed and breakfast rate and also booked direct and made use of the £10 voucher and free glass of wine each. We were slightly disappointed that the menu was different to that advertised online and also what was sent when requesting this via email just a few weeks before. We had ear marked our choice of food and had a fussy eater, so it was a little disappointing that the menu choices were different. Nevertheless the food choice remained reasonable, the quality and taste of the food was really nice and the service was excellent. The staff were really attentive, friendly, provided recommendations and accounted for dietary requirements. The breakfast was also a highlight, lots of choice, freshly prepared with staff constantly bringing fresh produce out past the breakfast finish time - which doesn’t always happen. The staff were equally as helpful offering tea and coffee and brought extras when requested. A very young man attended to us and we all made comment as to how polite and forth coming he was for such a young waiter.
Overall the hotel was lovely, it was nice to stroll around in our robes and it didn’t feel awkward that some residents were fully clothed. I think there was a 6pm cut off for this.
We didn’t make use of the pub and other small shops on site, but did have a mooch around them, the pub was quaint and equipped with a pool table, dart board and games machine.
I would recommend to others and cannot wait to return.

The hotel (cottage) room and staff were what made the visit worthwhile. We were disappointed by the spa facilities as they were smaller than expected, uncomfortably hot, the hydrotherapy pool overlooking a car park and new housing estate, and the lack of private changing cubicles within the changing rooms. We were recommended the hotel and spa by a family member who had attended a few years ago and due to the NHS offer. We would consider staying at the hotel again, but not for a spa weekend.

Friendly staff and comfy rooms The staff here were wonderful, always very friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our room on the first night (out of their control I believe) and it was resolved swiftly and satisfactorily. The thermabath was wonderful but the changing rooms could do with a good clean. The food in the restaurant was significantly over priced and the servings were quite small. The changing rooms in the spa could do with a good clean. The location is quite a way out, but this was our own error (we were heading to the arena) just be mindful that its quite a challenge to get an Uber or Taxi in the morning on a school day. Our room wasn't cleaned during the day so we had to request more coffee/tea and milk but other than those small things it was a perfectly pleasant stay.

Spoilt by the housing estate that is been developed , ruined the view from the spa area and we weren’t warned before we booked that it’s basically a building site.
Breakfast was good but the evening meals were not up to much with some very odd combinations.
The pillows were like sleeping on a rock not at all comfortable.

Had a great visit here. We booked a package with overnight stay, which included access to spa, a spa treatment and evening meal. Check in was from 2pm, but we went a bit earlier as we had also booked afternoon tea and so were given an early check-in. Reception staff very helpful.
Dropped our bags off in our room. This was a standard room yet was a good size. Room was very clean and the bed big and comfy.
We then headed for our afternoon tea. Nice selection of sandwiches and lots of different cakes including freshly made scones which were still warm. Really enjoyed it and felt quite full afterwards.
Our early check-in meant we could enjoy the facilities straight afterwards. Staff in the spa area very friendly and welcoming, explained how it all worked and we went through to the spa area quickly. Good sized swimming pool, with plenty of loungers for our planned lazy afternoon.
The highlight for me was the hydrotherapy pool. Really hot and very relaxing. There is also a steam room, 2 different types of sauna and 2 other rooms, all offering different relaxation experiences.
We stayed there a good couple of hours. Although it was busy it was big enough to not feel overcrowded.
We had also booked a massage which was fantastic and really finished the afternoon. Left us feeling totally relaxed when we returned to our room.
Evening meal was 3 courses, good menu choice and Really enjoyed it. Restaurant was busy but there were lots of staff and we didn't wait long for our courses.
Our bed was comfortable and we both slept really well.
Breakfast is a self serve buffet. Lots of choice and all really tasty.
The hotel setting is a really good location with some great views and walks nearby.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend this hotel.

Overall a lovely stay, good nights sleep, lovely walks. Breakfast was good, evening meal on first night was excellent, second night not as good, would like to have seen a different menu.
Drinks a little expensive, but have to make your money somehow.
Would like to have seen option for a couple of different cocktails.
Downside from out last stay, houses being built around the Spa, can see into the neighbouring houses so didn’t feel quite as relaxing.
Overall, value for money and would visit again with the girls.

It was a wonderful hotel with great amenities but what I did find a little off putting was they are building housing right upto the carpark at the front of the hotel

Nice clean place, lovely spa, reasonable value all round.. Out near the Pennine Moors, so great views.I also selected it as the train station is under a mile away so it saved me driving towards Manchester every day.

The staff go above and beyond and we had a fantastic weekend from start to finish. The afternoon tea was delicious and then we had a lovely relax in the spa area, before we went out for a meal at Retreat in Bromley Cross. We’ll be back again soon.
