I booked an executive double room, it had 3 beds in it when only one was needed and the curtain was ripped. Our friends had a standard room and theirs was much nicer. The communal hallways were tired looking and the breakfast was an eye watering £17.95 each for something you would pay around £11 elsewhere.

Third stay there, great place, love it. Service needs attention Great facilities, free parking and wi go, good good and lovely spa Bar service sucked, slow and both guys had absolutely no personality. Waited ten minutes for a Bloody Mary and then told they didn’t have any tomato juice

Was in the location I needed and had stayed here before. Got to use the pool this time which was great. Bar and breakfast area is nice and I stayed in one of the rooms which was at the back outside of the main hotel.

Rooms were clean and spacious with a good view The spa and pool were good although there was limited access mentioned but not enforced. I was on the 2nd floor and there was no lift. Breakfast was good. Having to climb up 2 flights of stairs

More pricey than local hotel rooms but was pleasant Friendly staff and pretty venue Running up to the event I had several options to ‘upgrade to a room with a toilet’ the cost to upgrade was a lot more but when I got to the room I already had a loo included so was unnecessary stress leading up to the event. Maybe was a gimmic to get you to upgrade but kept getting the notifications on booking.com

Hydrotherapy pool is lovely but don’t like that you have to pay extra for just a 50 minute slot. Room was clean and everything laid out nicely eg robes, slippers toiletries, coffee facilities etc. bar area needs an update but still had a nice time. Food in the pub was excellent but again needs an update in there ie furniture and carpets. The cooked breakfast was good, but the continental breakfast buffet lacked selection and quality. Staff were all very helpful.

Not to be missed Lovely place with nice rooms, beautiful Spa included in the bed and breakfast rates. Several good walks in the surrounding countryside around the hotel. Nice bar and restaurant, very relaxed atmosphere.  Shower over bath instead of a walk-in shower, surely a must nowadays.

Except for the spa and swimming pool this place is no more than a Premier Inn with frills. Breakfast was average. Quality of ingredients substandard including the bread. Tea was awful and also the concentrated orange juice. Spa facilities are amazing but you have to book in advance. Our carpet in the executive suite needed replacing. Main meal was excellent in the evening but only one main for a vegetarian so if you had a two night stay you would have to eat the same main. My husband had the beef and said it was delicious. Not enough staff in the restaurant. Slippers, 2 water bottles and a couple of chocolates in a box were a nice touch. The room should have a mini fridge in. Quality of ingredients made to prepare the breakfast including bread, tea, coffee etc.
Toilet flush could be improved. Paid £17.95 per person for a breakfast for a two night stay, spent approx. £80 on breakfasts and it was substandard for a four star hotel. Needless to say we did not go for the second breakfast morning even though I had booked it and paid for it in advance. Dirty sticky dining tables, not very clean in the restaurant

What had, on previous stays, been excellent, a mix-up in the booking and some problems with the room, took the shine of what had always been a positive and very pleasant experience.
