Good amenities. Standard rooms, could be a little bit cleaner both rooms and spa, otherwise great experience.

Hotel! It was like a lovely little Tudor village with shops, a pub, a tea room and more. Very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms a little tire but very clean. Would definitely return.

Great apart from food, starter was awful and breakfast was lovely apart from 10 min wait for a plate and replenished food

Room not the best. Taps in the bathroom needed to be turned 5 to 6 times to splutter into life and then the hot tap took an age to warm.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Food lovely.
Checking-in online and booking breakfast before arrival instructions not the clearest or easiest.

Had a two day Spring break, great deal. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay taking as much advantage of the spa facilities as possible.
The spa was good may be a little more cleaning needed and quite a lot of hosepipes around ( trip hazard) but generally good. The massage I had was very good, again the relaxation room needed an up grade.
The evening food was excellent, breakfast was okay but not of the quality of the bar and restaurant food. We had a superior room it was pleasant but maybe getting ready for a bit of a facelift. However bed very comfortable.
Staff very friendly and helpful.

Ny complaint to the hotel sums up our stay.

I received an email asking me to add a card to my account should I want to order any additional extras during my stay, which I did.

Upon check in this was verified that the card was on the account and extras wouold be charged to the room.

The room was not ready for us at check-in approximately 2pm, and we were asked to take a seat in the bar area to wait.

Whilst we waited we asked the staff if they would give a menu to us, and on the second time of asking the menu came, and I was advised to order at the bar.

I went to order and put on my account and was advised no you have to pay at the bar which was fine and I did.

We checked into our room and went for the spar treatments, at the spa it was really enjoyable and we were able to enjoy the afternoon, although the time had to be separate due to staff sickness, which was no fault of the hotel.

We came down for the meal, the food was really good, however the service was appalling. Absolutely no interest in us, we had to ask to clear the plates, and serve our own wine. We were not treated very well at all. We had to continually ask for the wine menu, desert menu etc. Really poor service. The food however was delicious.

I asked to put the additional wine and additional charges to my room, and this was refused, saying I had to pay before leaving the restaurant.

The breakfast in the morning, again the service was really poor, we had to ask for sauces, milk etc. he cooked breakfast was very dry and overcooked, a real disappointment.

I lost an earring at the hotel and again, there was no urgency in taking this as an important letter, and I still have not heard back if it was found or not.

We did lodge a complaint at reception on leaving about our stay and again no-one has called me back or been in touch.

This was a very special treat for my daughter and I to spend time together and we were really disappointed in the way we were just treated like a number and not a valued guest.

Pleasant Breakfast was great, spa was fabulous size of venue perfect Moth in the bed, tatty carpets, bathroom dangerous having to climb out of a deep bath after using the shower (not good)
Food and drink prices very expensive

Stayed in room 16 - avoid if you want a decent sleep, as it is adjacent to the vent from the kitchen that comes on a stupid o’clock in the morning.
Cobwebs hanging from ceiling, shower sealant had mould, WiFi in the room was really patchy. No sound on BBC1 HD on the TV. Radiator cover hanging off one end.
Breakfast OK, but really no better than Premier Inn, which is much less. That said they started serving at 6.30 which is really useful.
Hotel is looking tried in some public areas and needs money spent on it.

Lancashire weekend The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean. The on site restaurant good, if a little pricey, The food in the bar was good, the staff excellent. We didn't use the spa, which was included in our stay so cannot really comment on it but it looked good and the people using it appeared to be enjoying the facilities. Quiet location with Plenty of car parking. Main gripe was the room needed a good deep clean; skirting boards, under the glass on the dressing table (old bits of make-up, fluff etc), inside wardrobe needed a dust and vacuum, edges of carpets needed added attention (bits of fluff, dead insect). Finally, the water in the toilet was running constantly. We reported them when we left and were told we should have said while we were there but we didn't want to be disturbed by plumbers etc while we were staying. All these things should have been picked up by housekeeping before the room was let. We would have rated our stay higher had these things had been sorted out beforehand.

Lovely place, hotel facilities are nice, spa treatments are amazing and the spa itself is nice enough. Food in the courtyard restaurant is delicious and goldilocks portion sizes (not too big, not too small). Overall nice night away and not badly priced. Just need to ease up on the quantity of automated emails they send to the customers in the run up to their visit. (15 in one week!)

Oddly this hotel used to be in the middle of green space - now it’s in the middle of a housing estate.
